The Adventures of the Texas Pup Trolls
Parts 1- 3
For those of you who have asked I am working on part 4.
Once upon a time, this was a peaceful little group. Aside from the mildlyannoying
ones who tried to pass themselves off as trolls (actually all ofthe Texas pups
- G -); things went swimmingly, for the most part.
Then one day an archaic message appeared on our computers, a classicpoltergeist
activity. The message described a house that needed a lot ofwork. The subliminal
message penetrated the Texas Pup Trolls Collective. The Texas Pup trolls were
strangely interested and kept reading... Salina
hollered "we have to find this secret club house and make it our own. Maybe
it has a big kitchen that MA and I can cook in." Beverly responded with"maybe
it has a barn for our horses." LindaC and others cried, "maybe ithas a tool
shed for our tools, the ones that won't fit in our tool belts."
A Texas Pup Troll meet was arranged. From far and wide all the little TexasPup
Trolls meet at Sue Ellen's in various stages of exploring attire and
gear. PLW perfected the Harrison Ford "Raiders of the Lost Arch" look. Deb
was splendid in her Xena outfit. All of the tool belt club members brought
their belts. We all felt we would be well protected. Janna loaded her truck
up with ice chests and more tools. Gina's truck was loaded with toys forMA.
And so off the Texas Pup trolls went in search of a new adventure, aTexas Pup
Troll club house.
They drove for hours and hours, visions of a house filling our troll minds.A
poltergeist mind warp drew them in. In the back woods of East Texas theyfound
the hauntingly, intriguing house. Jumping out of their trucks andsplashing through
the mud the Texas Pup Trolls ran up to the big wrap around
porch. They all stood there in awe of this run down haunted looking house.
None could leave. Soon a discussion ensued about the best approach to take.Soon
Xena, a.k.a. Deb, was pushed kicking and screaming "I am not Xena, I am
not Xena" up on to the porch. The trolls figured even ghosts must have heard
of Xena and would be afraid. Deb is an actress she can act her wayup. Stealthily
some of the pups maneuvered behind the tool belt pups incase they need to "help"
them up on the porch to help Xena, oops Deb.
Xena gathered her courage and let out a Xena yell only it was like a big dogmaking
a squeaking yip, yip bark. A big groan was heard through the TexasPup Troll
collective. All of a sudden the tool belt trolls landed on theporch with a loud
thud and the rest of the pups looking on innocently,
except Merpup -- One of Many (MOom) who was giggling and rubbing her paws
together and had an evil glint in her eye, being the sick pup that she is.
Like the good little tool belt carriers they were they stomped their boots, pushed
out their chests (oh my -- fanning myself) and stomped around the
porch.) It was soon decided the house was indeed abandoned and appeared tohave
been for quite some time. The trolls clamored up to the door. Theentrance had
a huge heavy wooden door, which seemed to be stuck. Each ofthe tool belt trolls
tried the door. Unable to force the door open, the
Texas Pup trolls began looking for another way in, being the driven trolls
that we are. After pulling PLW off the porch pole and explaining to B-E-V that
the porchrailing is not a horse... the pups looked all around for an entry into
the
house.
All the windows were all boarded up and even the strongest tool-belt TexasPup
Trolls could not break through the boards. After finding no way in, one
of the smaller Texas Pup trolls, Mandy, decided to try the door again, and
just slightly turned the knob. It swung open easily... Mandy was given her
very own pair of pliers.
All the trolls clamored stealthily into the house. The front room was largeand
dusty. The Texas Pup Trolls decided to look around. Salina lead hercooks into
the kitchen to look around, the rest hesitantly looked around the
rest of the house. All the rooms were large, with heavy timbers used in theconstruction.
Plaster had fallen off from almost every wall, and lay smashed
in piles of dust on the floor. Where the plaster had fallen, openings were
left which showed that the wall behind was constructed of wooden planks.
Soon, after a brief look around all the Texas Pup trolls re-convened in the
big front room.
There was an eerie silence in the house and the trolls swore the house waswhispering
to them. Someone noted that that there was absolutely noevidence of wild animals
anywhere in the house (must have been a tool belt
carrying pup). Usually, raccoons will make an abandoned house their home,
and this house seemed to have been abandoned for decades.
They were not discouraged by their fear. They decided to take pictures andstudy
them later. The trolls took many pictures. After a while they soondeparted.
It was dinnertime and that meant hungry Texas Pup Trolls and pole
dancing. Hauntingly enough, the house was erased out of everyone's mind. About
a month later another Texas Pup Troll meet was convened. When it wastime for
pictures the Pups found their cameras already had film in it that
needed to be developed. Rene was sent to have the film developed whileLindaN
taught the other Texas Pup Trolls to two-step.
Later Rene returned white faced with the pictures. We all clamored aroundwith
questions. Rene simply handed over the developed film. As we gazedupon that
first photo the memory of house returned a shiver ran through the
trolls. We could all see that almost every photo contained areas of foggy or
misty transparent "blobs." That would not be unheard of in such a dark, dank
old house but these did not appear consistently in the same areas, and it
sometimes took some searching to even notice them. As we all looked a the
pictures, MOom covered her mouth and said, "O fuck." Shivers ran down our
spines as she pointed out a kind of red light fog on one photo. When the
photo was turned upside down, the red image formed a very obvious skull.
Soon all the photos were turned upside down. Misty skulls and faces appearedin
a number of pictures, as well as a complete murder scene of a woman lying
in a bed. Some of the pictures took a little imagination to view, but some
were very apparent and universally seen by all of us.
Another shiver ran through the group. Nina was whispering protectionconnotations
under her breath. Gina gathered up all of the photos andordered everyone to
have a drink! Neither the photos nor the house wereever talked about again.
A year had come and gone. Gina an MA was cleaning out their Texas Pup Trollmemory
chest and came across the pictures again. They sat on the floor oftheir home
as ice cold chills coursed through their bodies. They couldn't
put them down. An unknown force was in their home with them and they "had"to
look at them. MA noticed in one photo a mean laughing man was in thewindow They
wrote the observation on the back of the photo and decided to
call all Texas Pup trolls together in Oklahoma for a séance.
On Halloween day all the pups arrived at Gina and MA's place, even Cie madethe
trip. Everyone was amazed to see that all the trolls brought brooms.
The tool belt trolls brought outdoor brooms. It felt like a Sandra Bullockmovie.
The Krum trolls soon had a batch of protection spelled mimosas for
everyone, figuring the vitamin C would be good in a séance and the liquorwould
be needed! Others lit candles and placed them all around the house.
Gina and PLW gathered all of the trolls into a circle and shut the lightsout
as MA explained about the man in the window. Each troll was given a penand was
told to write on the back of any of the pictures if they noticed a
ghost. All the pictures were passed around, one by one. The wind outsidestarted
howling, the rain was a heavy drop that made a taping noise one by
one on the roof. Everyone started seeing the house, clear as day, in hermind.
Different scenes played in their minds of the gruesome murder andmore.
After gathering up all of the pictures they checked the back of thepictures.
One picture of blurred and out of focus wall read, "A young girl
on the right." The trolls could not see it until the picture was turnedupside
down.
Another picture someone had wrote "a little girl." Once again the picturehad
to be viewed from a different angle, an overhead angle. From this angle
someone saw what appeared to be the girls doll. A magnifying glass wasbrought
out to get a better look.
The little girl appeared to be plump and sitting on a chair with her handsin
her lap. When the magnifying glass was moved to the doll, those that
could see it got a chill down her spine and could not move. The room grewdeathly
silent except for the tap, tap, tap of the rain, almost like the
tap, tap, tap of a little girl walking. The others ran to the photo and inturn
each Texas Pup Troll viewed what they thought was a doll. Under themagnifying
glass that errie misty shape of a doll appeared to be a stack of
skulls.
The Texas Pup Trolls sat in stunned silence. The rest of the pictures layon
the floor untouched. Michelle and Cie, the graphics troll pups were the
first to move. They put their heads together to determine if thesephotographs
were touched up. The other trolls sat rubbing their arms.
Sherry looked around and said, "we need something stronger to drink." Allthe
little Texas Pup Trolls jumped up post haste and beat it to the kitchen
with their puppy troll cups for a shot of anything that would burn going
down. During their much-needed nutrition break, Becky Troll told the other
trolls about the Chinese Hungry Ghost Festival which occurs on the 15th day
of the seventh moon. The Festival is to appease the ghosts of the unlovedor
uncared for. According to Chinese mythology, the gates of hell open
during the seventh month, allowing spirits to roam the earth. Spirits ofthose
who have died at their own hands, in accidents, by drowning, or
hanging, seek souls on earth to take their place in hell. Lanterns in water
are used to guide these bad spirits away, and offerings of fruit and coins
are left for the ghosts to take on their wanderings. Being the teachertroll
someone threw an apple at her.
Soon a discussion broke out on whether to continue viewing the pictures.Momma
trolls Dina and Becky were adamant that the Texas Pup Trolls find out
what happened to the little girls and the murdered woman. There were many
debates. Nina troll was greatly affected by the pictures and the feeling ofa
poltergeist in the room. Mandy troll suggested we contact the X-files andget
Scully out here (personally I think after Scully arrived we would not
see her or Mandy again). Amanda troll suggested we dress DebTango up asScully
and she could channel Scully to the group.
Ana the preacher troll suggested we bless the pictures first. Carrie trollsuggested
we rope the pictures together and send them over a bridge in paddy
of cow doodie. Leather queen troll suggested we chain them together and use
cat-o-nine tails to whip the evil spirits out of the pictures. Soon the
liquor and suggestions had the Texas Pup Trolls snickering. MOom trollpulled
down her cowboy hat, looked at AJ troll and said let's gather up all
the electronic gadgets, a new Casio wrist camera, a computer and you can
program a device to detect the paranormal activity. All the other Texas Pup
Trolls smacked MOom upside the head.
After everyone calmed down Kim troll urged everyone back into the livingroom
to finish looking at the pictures. They all gathered in a circle with
their brooms and continued to look at what was written on the back of each
picture.
In one picture, when turned sideways, in the upper window where at first itlooked
like a smudge, a man materialized. MamMaw troll muttered somethingabout it being
bad mojo and the house was too close to the Louisiana border
and those Cajuns. The next photo had written on the back "Come back." Whenthe
photo was turned over... what looked like fog, turned into the words
"Come Back."
Everyone sat stunned. The wind stopped blowing and the tap, tap, tap of therain
sounded loudly through the house, like a little girl walking. Ginatroll said
that was enough and once again gathered up all the photos. Allthe little Texas
Pup trolls stood up and gathered their brooms to the ready.
Bev troll said that she was the Lone Ranger and must ride her trusted steed
back to the house and find out what was going on. Someone else popped offwith
"if you're the Lone Ranger troll, then we are the Tonto trolls, except
Salina, she is Captain Cavey troll."
Everyone looked around in the ensuing silence. Then PLW troll muttered"people
just got to be free" and started doing a pole dance with her broom.
Soon all the tool belt trolls started playing swords with their brooms.
Others danced with either their brooms or each other. Texas Pup Trolls will
be Texas Pup Trolls, especially after all the liquor and paranormal activity
they just lived through.
The next morning, one by one, the Texas Pup Trolls awoke. A plan washatched
to visit the house again in two months.
...two months later all 82 of the Texas Pup Trolls met in Dallas. Truckswere
loaded up with various gadgets, candles, talisman, crosses, brooms,
beer, food, tools, and walkie-talkies (when they could pry them out of MA's
grasp. She was sitting in the stack of walkie-talkies laughing hysterically"toys,
I have toys"). The Texas Tool belt trolls, even PLW had a cutefashion trend
tool belt, made sure their belts hung low and were fully
loaded. Gina brought extra toys and batteries for MA and something specialjust
for her Marianne. Soon all of the Texas Pup Trolls loaded up and
caravanned to East Texas and "the house."
After exiting the main highway onto the little road that would lead them tothe
house a foggy mist developed. The Texas Pup Trolls would not be scaredoff. They
continued to the house. One by one the vehicles pulled up to thehouse at a safe
distance. The house looked like a giant skull in the misty
fog. No one got out of their vehicles. LindaN troll was the first to breakthe
silence and shakily got out of her vehicle. Soon all the Texas PupTrolls were
standing around in the moisture filled fog trying to see the
house clearly.
The collective moved forward step by step toward the house. A lightappeared
in the foggy mist. With each progressive step forward, the light
became brighter, and objects became clearer. The pictures ran through
everyone's memory. Each was looking for one of the little girls or the man.Once
again the trolls found themselves at the foot of the giant wrap around
porch.
A deja vu went through the troll collective. One minute they were staringthrough
the foggy mist the next they were watching people move about the
house on a clear sunny day. The women wore heavy woven fabric, almost likeburlap.
The children were playing happily. Then all of a sudden the aspiration disappeared
and there stood the bighaunting house in the misty fog. Those wearing tool belts
were pushed tothe front. Deb wisely, but disappointingly came dressed as herself
thistime, much to the disappointment of PLW. Lone Ranger troll Bev adjusted
hertool belt and had everyone check her walkie-talkie. Gina gave up getting
hers away from MA and decided to share PLW's walkie-talkie, which strangely
enough resembled a pole - although she claimed it was a gabwhacker. Rene's
walkie talkie had a little cloak and dagger on it, Mandy's was dressed up
like Scully, Salina's was shaped like a frying pan, Janna's was shaped like
a pool stick, Michelle's like a computer, Nina's like a voodoo doll, Bev's
walkie-talkie looked like the Lone Ranger, Gabsabs looked like a Barbie
Gabriel. Seems like the Texas Pup Trolls dress up walkie-talkies instead ofdolls.
The trolls were paired up into teams and each team was given a photographto
investigate. Everyone gathered their courage, the tool belt trollspuffed out
their chests (oh my) but no one moved. Soon an evil cackle washeard and a tool
belt troll went flying onto the porch. Everyone looked atMOom who, under her
cowboy hat, had an evil glint in her eye... her
walkie-talkie was dressed up like a Sleestak from Land of the Lost.
So team by team they climbed the stairs until they were all on the porch.Rockhead
inched toward the door. When she touched the doorknob an icy chillinvaded her
arm. Steady as a rock she grasped the doorknob tighter and
muttered "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century." No one knew if Rockhead was
talking about her walkie-talkie, which looked like a space ship, or if it
was a chant for strength. Rockhead opened the door and instead of a loud
creeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak, there was deathly silence. No onemoved
until Caryn pushed Janna into the house, saying "Marsha, Marsha,
Marsha." Caryn's walkie-talkie looked like Jan Brady. Half of the Texas Pup
Trolls inched into the house, the rest content toremain on the porch...to protect
those inside. Everyone stood still, afraidto move. MommaHawk whispered let's
investigate the house and get out ofhere. Murmurs of agreement were whispered.
The teams divided up intodownstairs, upstairs, kitchen, and outside teams.
The Texas Pup Trolls assigned to the upstairs were leery of climbing thespooky
looking steps. Slowly they inched their way up. The trolls at thebottom noticed
that there were no sounds coming from the steps as the trolls
slowly went up.
The first level of the house looked pretty much the same as it did in thepictures
except for a door on the northern wall. The trolls were perplexedand thought
that maybe they just missed it the first time. The pictureswere brought out
and looked at again. The trolls could not see a door inthe picture. On the back
of the picture of the north wall was written,"Help me." The trolls looked at
the picture again, turning it in alldirections, finally when held at a distance
and tilted to upward, a
something evil could be seen in the wood grain. Floating over the evil signwas
a skull and the words "help me." A spine chilling terror swept throughthe trolls.
The trolls started to back toward the front door when anaspiration of a little
boy appeared by the north wall.
The little boy looked at the trolls with such agony on his face it torturedthe
soul. He tried to speak but the trolls could not hear anything. WhenBecky troll
approached the little boy, he turned with his head bowed and
walked through the door. The trolls were left with a feeling of such sadness
and loss that they did not notice the event-taking place behind them until
they heard a horrible chuckle that filled them with terror.
When the trolls turned around they saw the most frightening sight they eversaw,
a face was coming out of the wall. It had a reddish tint and stared at
the trolls. There, coming through the wall, was a horrible aspiration of awoman
in a red dress. As the aspiration floated closer to the trolls theyheard her
laughing with an evil grin on her face. Someone whispered "Alti."
The Texas Pup Trolls were rooted to the spot, they couldn't move. Theaspiration
floated closer until she passed through the trolls and through
the door in the north wall. Later, when trying to explain, the trolls couldnot
convey the feeling of true evil passing through them, the terror and
emptiness that went through their very souls.
Upstairs, the trolls were experiencing a different paranormal activity... The
upstairs Texas Pup Trolls opened the first door they came too. Whenthey looked
into the room things were blurry, clouded over as if they had
all been crying. Through the mist they saw a small bed with a white lacycomforter
on top under a lace draped window. In the corner of the room theythought they
saw a little girl hunched close to the floor. The trolls couldnot make out any
details through the mist and inched closer. Suddenly thelittle girl cried out
in terror. The trolls stopped dead in their tracks. The tool belt trolls reached
into their tool belts and pulled out various
tools, err I mean weapons. One had a screwdriver, another a Philipsscrewdriver,
another had a box cutter at the ready, and Michelle had her
trusty Swiss Knife for computer geeks.
When the little girl quieted, Kim pressed herself close to a tool belttroll
and asked the little girl what was wrong. The little girl said in afrightened
voice "That woman is going to get me" and pointed to the door.
Everyone quickly turned around and peered through the mist but could not see
anything. One of the more courageous tool belts, Lori the powerlifter, peeked
out the door and reported nothing found. All the trolls turned backtoward the
little girl, rubbing their eyes trying to bring things in focus.
Kim asked the little girl what woman and the little girl just kept pointing
toward the door, "That woman. That woman is going to get me. She stole mybrother."
The trolls were quick to reassure her that she would be safe with
them, that no one would hurt her. Still the little girl kept pointing. Thetrolls
once again turned and looked but still could see nothing. As thetrolls were
turning back toward the little girl their eyesight started
clearing and they stared at an empty room, except for an old ratty bed under
the boarded up window.
The trolls rubbed their eyes and peered around not quite sure what had justhappened.
MommaHawk inched forward on wobbly legs toward the corner. Whenshe reached the
corner she just stood their looking at an empty corner,
except for a little doll. Hesitantly MommaHawk reached down to pick up thedoll.
Later, when MommaHawk was telling her part in the adventure shereported that
when her fingers came into contact with the doll she had the
most peaceful feeling spread through her body.
Caprice troll got on her walkie-talkie, dressed up like Hong Kong Fuey, andcalled
for the downstairs trolls "breaker, breaker one-nine, this is big
mama with the wet pants calling the Bandit." She was scared into a timewarp
of the 70s. The blast came out of everyone's walkie-talkies makingenough noise
to wake the dead. Everyone jumped and after stuffing theirhearts back down into
their chests, the trolls just stared at their
walkie-talkies.
Down stairs the trolls were trying to figure out how to drop down from theceiling
without getting hurt. Outside the trolls were headed for the icechests full
of beer. Finally GabsAbs had all the downstairs trolls turn offtheir walkie-talkies
while she responded "Big mama, this is downstairs troll
Daisy Duke, we copied you FREAK'N loud and clear!
sweet voice> what's up?"
The upstairs trolls looked sheepishly at each other when Gina troll grabbedPLW's
walkie-talkie "status check, how are you doing? find anything yet?"
No way were they going to try and explain anything over a walkie-talkie
"yep, uh huh, we are fine. How about you?" Outside the trolls werelaunching
into their first six pack thinking they were lucky to be outside,
until they felt someone or something watching them....
