Central Texas Area Whataburger Meet

Allen and Ella Roberts of Bryan travelled to Round Rock to meet with other Central Texas area SVOOA chapter members on July 11. They provided the following wrapup report of the infamous "Whataburger Cruise."

As of 8:30, the parking lot next to the Round Rock Whataburger was packed with all sorts of classic cars--and Mustangs were represented well. Of those, the Texas Chapter SVOOA brought out five of its own:

Attendees included:

Allen and Ella Roberts with their two black '86s;

Chapter Director Jim Whelan of Leander with his black '86 and his new "pristine" medium canyon red '86 which he is offering for sale; and

Mike and Tracy Monroe of Austin in their silver '84.

Lew Medina, formerly of Hawaii, helped Jim drive out his two SVOs so his '86 jalapeno red (driverless) had to stay at Motion Dynamics, Jim's nearby performance shop.

Later in the evening, two unknown-to-us Wacoites showed up in a black '84. And Texas Chapter member Chuck Penney was on hand to see the showing.

The Austin Mustang Owners Club participates in the monthly cruise that ends up each time at the Whataburger in Round Rock, and Texas Chapter SVOs have been meeting at these Saturday night events.
