The Yellow Rose Classic--Southwest All Ford Nationals
August 15-16, 1998

The Ninth Annual Yellow Rose Classic hosted by the North Texas Mustang Club was held this August at the Amon G. Carter Exhibit Hall in Ft. Worth. Texas SVO enthusiast Jim Downing of Dallas provided this report.

The Yellow Rose show went smoothly and I had a really good time just participating. There was a wealth of excellent Fords everywhere you could look, this was a real show, Ford only. Who wants to compare apples to oranges, right?

I managed to place third in my class and was happy that I got that. I had some extremely tough competition. There were a couple of super nice cars that I had to compete against. Luckily, I got a nice trophy, met lots of new friends. and was able to promote the Mustang SVO Owners Association.

Jim showed two cars in the Yellow Rose Classic: a black 85.5 SVO and a gray 86.

While at the show, I got a visit from Sam Hanks of College Station; Wendy Hartsell and her husband from Killeen; Andrew Collins and his son from Hillsboro; and Brad Powell from Lewisville. Also, I owe special thanks to John Eyler from North Richland Hills for the helping set up and detailing my two cars.

I really hope that there are other SVOOA members that will come to the show next year. I will volunteer myself to organize a larger and better club display for next year. The show committee promises to give us our own class if at least five or six enter, and they will place us together in a common club display. Also, the money raised goes entirely to charity.

If any of you are interested in attending or showing your cars next year, my e-mail address is SVOMASTER@JUNO.COM and my phone is 214-526-0418.
