West Texas Area Coordinator Richie Hodges filed the following report of the West Texas SVO Summer Event at the Idalou Drag Strip recently.
"July 24th marked the first West Texas Gathering for SVO owners. While we don't have many owners to begin with in our area, the turn out was expected to be four to five SVOs. Due to circumstances, we only managed two SVOs but Jon Dell Blair from Midland/Odessa still made it up in his Supra while he works on the bugs on his stroker motors in his two SVOs. Can't wait to see them.
"Thanks to Jeff Smith of Lubbock for making it out. We had loads of fun racing against Camaros and 5.0s and even beat a few.
"After talking to Jon we may do our next get-togther in his neck of the woods down in Midland/Odessa. We have three SVOs here in Lubbock and two up in Amarillo. CAR PULL?" Anyone's thoughts are more than welcome. Contact at SvoRICHIE@aol.com or at 806-748-7309.
