A EULOGY FOR ME, r12/2000
I've now lived my life, never to the fullest,
I suppose I was far from being the poorest.
Life passed me by, for I was merely existing,
why couldn't I been crowned some wealthy king?
It wasn't the money, but the leisure time lost,
why the struggle, and why couldn't I have the most?
I didn't want handouts, I wanted to succeed,
start a new career or two, plant a new seed.
Still, I would like to be remembered real well,
I could write, and in some circles, I could even sell.
When it happens dear God, please make it quick,
for I'm a coward, I don't ever want to be sick.
When that final day comes, and everyone leaves,
remember this please, and write it on your sleeve.
He was a great father, husband, and best friend,
who never stopped fighting, and trying to the end!
