THIRTY-TWO YEARS, 6/16/2000
We met at this dance, to which I had no plans to go;
Later I found out, that to dancing you kept saying no.
We were both dragged by our respective friends;
for them, going alone would be against the trend.
I didn’t like your dress, but still thought you were cute;
We danced the night away, a new couple out of the chute.
It happened just that way, I guess it was fate, God’s wish;
For thirty-two years later, we are still a duo, we still kiss.
A year and a half later we said our vows, and we were wed;
‘for better or for worse till death due us part’, we both said.
We created our first bundle of joy, she was a little girl;
She was, and still is precious to us as an exquisite pearl.
Soon followed our second, our last, and he was boy;
equalized our family as two girls, and now two boys.
We had fun, two of us and the kids, in those growing up years;
we too enjoyed sharing, as we visited places for joy, and cheers.
Our two kids are responsible adults, of whom we are very proud;
if you met, and spoke to them, they’d both stand out in any crowd.
That leaves just the two of us, and we’ve been this way for awhile;
Like vagrants, moving from place to place, not by wish or by style.
Still on the scale of one to ten, to me you are close to a ten;
a little stability hon, and we too will get our place with a den.
I want to wish you a very happy anniversary babe, and much more;
thirty-two more with my mate, lover, and the wife whom I adore.
All my love;
PeterR
