Pleasure Island - Pleasure Island separates the Intercoastal Waterway from Sabine Lake, so there's no heavy ship or barge traffic to deal with on the Lake. You can launch at the big marina and you may be able to tie up there over night if you ask around. Local marina members can be very helpful. Left is Jim Siylie's Potter, "Selkie" with wife and son, Calvin. This photo was taken near the boat launch next to Pleasure Island Marina.
RV Park - Another place to launch on Pleasure Island is an RV park. When you cross the big bridge (HW 82) and follow the signs to Pleasure Island Marina you'll drive right past it. There is a nice ramp at the trailer park, a picnic pavilion with restrooms and some sheltered tables. The park manager was very friendly. The ramp is part of a little lagoon with a short and shallow channel to the lake. You can tie up to the pier or anchor in the lagoon. There's no shower at the park, but there is a little convience store nearby, north of the bridge.
