FUNCTION: AUTOBOT DUMP TRUCK
MOTTO: "Megatron's plans will crumble like sand."
'When Heavy Load bellows, "Let's haul,
Autobots!" He means HAUL! He's the most powerful of the construction
Autobots and has incredibly thick armour, making him a terrifying sight for
any Decepticon unlucky enough to get in his path. He is a martial arts
master and moves with graceful strength despite his size.' |

VEHICLE MODE:
In keeping with the build team theme Heavy Load is a dump truck. His
main colour scheme is a fairly solid yellow with a little detailing in a
deeper yellow around the top of the tray and near the teeth of the weapon.
the front and sides of his cab are moulded with a flat grey plastic and some
red, blue, grey and black details are painted on. His windows are
translucent grey like those of the rest of the build team and there is an
Autobot symbol painted on the top of the tray. It's not the most inspiring
of colour schemes, but it does hold true to the monochromatic nature of the
build team.
Heavy Load's wheels are larger
than those used for the Car Brothers, and unlike the Car Brothers his wheels
are plastic. They have a hard time turning on surfaces with little to grip -
like a table top or varnished floorboards - and have a tendency simply to
slide along. On more frictional surfaces like carpet the wheels will turn
but not for very long.
Heavy Load's vehicle mode
isn't necessarily a bad mode, in fact I rather like it, but the flat yellow
colour and lack of any real detail makes it look cheap, a fact added to by
the low quality of plastic that seems to have been used.
TRANSFORMATION (ROBOT
MODE):
Heavy Load can be transformed with or without his tray attached. if you
think it's just going to get in the way take it off, if not then leave it
on, but pull it upwards to give yourself some room. start by extending the
fists up and rotating the grey arms out to the sides. Next extend the legs
by pulling them out and folding the feet and the heel supports down. Fold
out the arms and stand. From here the tray can be placed behind his back by
folding the cabin to one side and spinning the grey panel around the same
direction, then folding the panel over his shoulders and behind his back,
then fold the cabin back, lift the roof and pull out the head. The tray can
be detached and held in either hand or can be used as seen in "Wedge's
short fuse" by folding the head in, turning the cabin to one side,
folding up the tray and turning it to the opposite side, then fold the cabin
back and fold the head up.
ROBOT MODE:
The same colour scheme is carried over in this mode, some more red is
revealed for his eyes (which look to be modelled off some really bad
sunglasses) while his face is the same flat grey, complete with the worst
mouth expression in the history of Transformers. the rest of his body is
coloured in the same solid yellow with very little breaking the scheme save
for his dark grey feet and hands and the light grey of his arms, upper legs
and pelvis.
Heavy Load has two hinge style
joints on each of his feet and one at each knee, he is ball jointed at the
waist , shoulders and elbows and his wrists are hinged, his neck can also
turn side-to-side. His enormous feet and the fact that he is mostly hollow
mean that he probably couldn't fall if he wanted to since no matter where
you put his feet there is always something providing enough surface area for
him to balance on.
Heavy Load is a welcome
addition to the Robots in Disguise line, though a better colour scheme would
have been appreciated. I can really only recommend him with the other
members of the build team as alone he doesn't have all that much play value.
