THE GUILT-RIDDEN MASTER My master was a great Jedi,a towering Anx who taught me the ways of the Jedi. But during a skirmish with an insane Defel assassin, he died saving my life when I had blundered into a dangerous situation. Another Master took me up and nominated me for Knighthood. Years later I was charged with a Padawan. As a Master I tried to teach him the ways to be an effective Jedi and to be a guardian of peace in the Republic. Once, he followed me to the Kathol Outback in search for an escaped fugitive. When we separated he was murdered . Then, the Council gave me another Padawan to teach. Soon after, during a rescue mission to Zelos, he was battered to death by a pack of agas. Later a third Padawan was assigned to me. I left him to monitor the entrance to the Outlander Club on Coruscant while I investigated a murder within. The Givin murderer confronted him and lured him to a trap where a group of criminals awaited. They killed my young Padawan and took his lightsaber. Now no Padawan dares to attach himself or herself to me. It matters not. I will not take on a Padawan. I will remain a Master without a Learner until I have exorcised these feelings of doubt and guilt. And until I have recovered my third Padawan's lightsaber. |
THE AMNESIAC JEDI "I know I don't have any memory of absolutely anything before last week and I know that I've been caught up in this sordid galactic... civil war. But do you actually expect me to believe that I am a member of an order of wise and venerated warrior-monks called Jedi, and I have been in some sort of hibernation trance for the last I-don't-know-how-many years, and all of my order have been murdered by agents of this new oppressive... Empire? "I expect you think I'd go on some quest of revenge. Give me a break! If you think I'd give two hoots for this Rebellion of yours, you've got another thing coming!" - as told to former Alliance Intelligence Agent Flak Wasiwawix |
