Not very much is known about Fenris' past. The Shist are by nature a reclusive people. It has been suggested, by him, that the Empire, employs Shist as spies, assassins, and the like. It is unclear if this is true or not. As a pilot and soldier, Fenris does his job. However most agree that he has been long overdue for a psych exam. He claims a connection with the Force, and often Masquerades as "Darth Fenris", equally often while in the middle of direct combat with Imperials. That Fenris has survived such encounters means he's either very lucky, or actually in tune with the Force. Neither possibility would answer everyone's questions.
