Born on Corellia shortly after the start of the Jedi purge. She is unaware even today that her mother had been a Jedi Knight. She never met her mother, and her father died shortly after her second birthday. So she was raised by her uncle, Jed Deltanar, who was small time merchant and smuggler. Throughout her life she was unaware of her own force potential, which in another time would have been cultivated in the Jedi acadamy. This potential always had the appearance of simple luck and coincidence to her, allowing her to survive a few scrapes as she grew up to aquire the tricks of the smuggling trade. So by the time she was 19 she found herself living in the Outer Rim looking for the next big thing.Shortly after she came to the Kildarn system her life was changed forever. She hooked up with the crew of a old Corellian freighter called the Nova Horizon. Together they had survived numerous Imperial entanglements and Hutt double crosses. She was able to develope her inner potential with the dubious assistance of self proclaimed Jedi, in truth this individual was a fallen Jedi padawan named Juna, who had seen her own master killed by Anakin Skywalker a.k.a. Darth Vader.

She was corrupted by her own lack of good teaching and perception of weakness in the now demised Jedi council, and her teachings nearly caused more damage than good. Sorna's own propensity towards survival and profit, along with the darker lessons of her 'benefactor' would have most likely driven her to the Dark Side if it had not been for the near fall of her fellow student and shipmate Kandar. Eventually he was able to return to the light side with the help of his friends and together Sorna and the Nova Horizons crew killed Juna and a Sithlord spirit she was attempting to revive (Juna had of course lost her mind and decided that what the galaxy needed was an Empress). Since then Sorna, having experienced the face of the dark side first hand, she has been taking stock in her life and trying to reform her ways. She has no idea if the Empire will fall or when, but feels that she will do whatever she can to help its demise and restore the Republic and the Jedi council as a sort of penance for her own sins of the past.
