Before the galaxy had even heard of Nrin Vakil of Rogue Squadron, Strikeforce Enteague had recruited Dorniekke Nels, a Quarren of Calamari, who was a fighter ace with one of Tierfon's X-wing squadrons before its decommissioning.

Dorniekke was an exceptional pilot, which was apparent during the team's investigation of the abandoned Rebel outpost on the water world of Liesson. When an experimental Star Destroyer (an Imperator-class with an enormous repulsorlift engine jammed up its main hangar bay) closed in on the floating outpost, Dorniekke led a squadron of four Incom T-65B X-wings to attack it. They approached the huge vessel weaving to evade turbolaser fire until finally they fired multiple proton torpedos to bring down the ship's shields and destroy the huge repulsorlift, ultimately causing the Star Destroyer to crash into Liesson's sea.

But Dorniekke was remembered as one of the victims of Dik Foranay, the Twi'lek assassin working with the Empire to bring down the Strikeforce. Foranay had lured the team to a deserted undersea complex on the water world Iskalon and trapped them there with damaged scuba equipment. A hundred meters away, on the sea bed was a submerged, but functioning skimmer with a ticking fusion bomb in its cargo compartment. Being Quarren, Dorniekke was the only one who could swim out to the vehicle and pilot it up and away from his teammates. He was at the stratosphere and still climbing when the bomb exploded, vaporizing the skimmer and its pilot, Dorniekke Nels.
