There was no one more aimless in their travels than Dellalt-born Genya Brock, the outlaw who was wanted by the Empire for some altercations here and there in the galaxy. He went where the wind blew (sometimes literally) and got into scrapes which were sometimes lethal. Once, he found himself trapped alone in a freighter, low on power, oxygen and ideas to survive that particular ordeal. It was then Phoenix Avalon dropped out of hyperspace to obtain his bearings and stumbled across the dying freighter and its doomed occupant.

Rescued by the pirate, Genya Brock joined him in his mission beyond the Outer Rim of the galaxy and soon after, joined the Strikeforce Enteague.

Genya was never without his moth-eaten cape. Wherever he went he brought the cape (and the moths) with him. Later, Ithorian taxonomist Umeg Domadan identified the moths as grey flutterbys of Ithor. These telepathic insects are nomads of Ithor. Groups of the flutterbys can roam the entire surface of the planet Ithor, surviving in jungles, mountains and snow.

When they've chosen a host (in this case, Genya), they would telepathically and subliminally induce him to travel as far and wide as possible, which was what he did until he joined the Strikeforce. As an added bonus, the telepathic link was two-way. The bugs were also subsceptible to Genya's telepathic suggestion. Many a time Genya's life was saved by the flutterbys swarming around an enemy to distract him.

But the link was strong that after the fall of the Empire he disappeared into the unknown again. He returned to the Enteague Sector during Thrawn's Campaign when Harv Ironfist, Ginuvar crimelord, posted a bounty on him. Harv's brother Varn Ironfist wanted him dead. But he learnt that Harv and Varn Ironfist were his estranged brothers. Harv was turning his criminal empire on Ginuvar into a legitimate government, and he required aides to rule the planet. Varn was jealous, greedy and tried to murder Genya. Genya (and his moths) fought back and killed the murderous Varn.

He accepted the assistant planetary administrator position on Ginuvar and adopted the name Genya Brock-Ironfist from then on.
