THE LONER NOMAD

I was a fungus-processor on my homeworld until one day the Trade Federation came and claimed that pressurized, reverse-gravity fungus-processing was their patented procedure. They asked for royalties. As the process had been with our family for six hundred standard years, my siblings and I refused to comply. They unleased their battle droids upon us, destroying and killing everything in less than an hour. I was badly injured, several large, burning holes in my cell wall, and a horrendous water loss.

I recovered in an mobile orbital hospital run by Carosites, and they nursed me back to health. But I was psychologically-scarred. I could not set pseudopod on the surface of the homeworld.

So I took what money I had and decided to set forth to travel the galaxy. I don't know what it is I look for, but when I find it I will return to the homeworld in peace.

THE SENATORIAL AIDE

I was an expatriate Sljee living on Coruscant, and one day I answered an recruitment ad to be a special assistant to a senator. A week later, I was in the employment of Senator Toonbuck Toora of Sy Myrth. Although the senator is a bit aloof and dedicated to her work, she treats me extremely well. I have more food and a better home than before. I don't know why a lot of the other senators are bad-mouthing Senator Toora.

My job usually entails meeting beings from all over the galaxy to obtain contracts for services and materiel. Once I talked down a representative of the Intergalactic Banking Clan during a meeting on Munnilinst. I even secured a contract for six hundred Hoersch-Kessel Drive Missile Frigates (which has a pleasant orowood scent) from a reseller on Celanon.

I don't know what Senator Toora requires the missile frigates for. All I know the Senator is a good person for entrusting me with a job which I am good at despite being a protoplasm.
