INJURY REPORT

DATE: OCTOBER 23, 1990

TIME: 8:00 P.M.

WHERE: SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA

PATIENT: 15 YEAR OLD FEMALE, HIGH SCHOOL JUNIOR

FACTORS: SWERVED TO AVOID AN ANIMAL AND NO       SEATBELT

DIAGNOSIS: TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY

INITIAL PROGNOSIS: BROKEN COLLARBONE AND TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY

 

 

 

 

Aimee 1 month prior to crash  

Aimee spent 5 months at Willis-Knighton North Hospital for rehabilitation before she was able to go home.  Aimee attended outpatient rehab for an entire year.  After her crash Aimee had to relearn how to walk, talk, eat and breath.  She was starting life again from infancy.

Aimee graduated from high school in 1993and continued onto college at Bossier Parish Community College in Bossier City and took a correspondence course at Penn State University.  She has volunteered at LifeCare Hospital in Shreveport and is currently a speaker for Think First.

Aimee was married to Clint, a Think First speaker and brain injury survivor, in June 2001.
