Tensions have
escalated between American KFOR troops and the
Kosovars and Serbs of Kosovo. French troops
have
had an especially difficult time as Mitrovica turns
into
a "combat zone". Violence continues to
erupt, curfews
have been put into place.

to Mitrovica, the "flashpoint" and "most dangerous place in Europe" on
February 18, 2000.

Force Capt. John Cherrey of Englewood, N.J. acknowledges applaud by baseball
