Galvatron

Profile:

Sinister and evil, Galvatron is the merciless leader of the Decepticons. Calculating and devious, Galvatron can be a cunning tactician at his best, although he is mentally unstable and prone to episodes of psychosis, which only leaves him more unpredictable and dangerous. Maintains his control over the Decepticons through fear and sheer power, along with the total loyalty of his top lieutenants.

Personal History:

The robot known as Galvatron was born Megatron, the first in a new line of enhanced war robots, roughly ten million years ago. His power was beyond compare and he quickly took command of the Decepticons in their battle for the conquest of Cybertron against the Autobot forces. He was responsible for the death of the Autobot leader Sentinel Prime, although his deeds were not widely known amongst the Autobot ranks, and his vile actions did not him from gaining a number of followers and admirers on Cybertron, even amongst the Autobot ranks.

Nine million years ago, Megatron raided an Autobot power facility in the Cybertronian capital city of Iacon. During this battle, he gravely wounded a young Autobot named Orion Pax, who would be rebuilt into the Autobot leader Optimus Prime. Optimus Prime was Megatron's equal in power and skill, and the two leaders and their factions would continue to battle for millions of years.

Approximately four million years ago, Optimus Prime would lead a contingent of Autobots off Cybertron in search of new sources of energon. Megatron, aboard the Decepticon flagship Nemesis, followed Prime and attacked his ship, and both crash-landed on the planet Earth, where they lay dormant until the year 1984. Upon emerging from statis, the Autobots and Decepticons would continue their battles on Earth and Cybertron and throughout the galaxy.

In the year 2005, Megatron succeeded in vanquishing Optimus Prime in the Battle of Autobot City. This battle left Megatron mortally wounded, however, and the Decepticon Starscream dumped him into space in an attempt to take over leadership of the Decepticons. The vast planet-gobbling world Unicron, however, reformatted Megatron into a more powerful robot named Galvatron. Galvatron destroyed Starscream and reassumed the leadership of the Decepticons. In a battle with the new Autobot leader Rodimus Prime, however, Galvatron was thrown into the lava of the dead world Thrull. This lava bath damaged some of his mental circuits, leading to chronic episodes of instability.

In the year 2007, Galvatron and the Decepticons launched a "Final Offensive" against the Autobots on Cybertron and the people of Earth. They were ultimately repelled, but not before they had inflicted devastating casualties to the Autobot ranks and the human Earth Defense Command. Galvatron has not been seen since that time as he waits and plans his next attack.

Abilities:

Galvatron's power has no peer in the Decepticon ranks; no single Decepticon could stand up to him one-on-one. He utilizes an arm-mounted nuclear fusion cannon capable of linking interdimensionally to a black hole to draw antimatter to use as a weapon. Galvatron transforms into a tripod-based cannon that increases his weapon power by a factor of ten. Besides his bouts of mental instability, Galvatron has no known weaknesses.
