Text Box: February 4, 2004     Transgender American Veterans Association Monica Helms President   Dear Ms Helms:     American Veterans For Equal Rights is proud to accept your invitation to be a Sponsor/Supporter of TAVA's March To The Wall being held on May 1, 2004 in Washington, D.C.    As you may know, in 1994, ours was the first national gay and lesbian organization to vote to include transgender in our membership.  In 2002, our membership voted to change our name from Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Veterans of America (GLBVA) to American Veterans For Equal Rights (AVER) to demonstrate our inclusiveness of both transgender and two-spirited veterans.  We are proud of our history in support of transgender veterans.      We look forward to working closely with TAVA on the issues of mutual concern to us all.    On behalf of the membership and Board of Directors of AVER, best wishes for a successful and gratifying event.     Sincerely,   (signed)   Nancy A.
