PI VERSION: 10 LEVEL: Easy to Intermediate

MAIN TOOLS: Path Drawing Tool, Wrap Gallery, Hue & Saturation, Trransform Tool (for resizing)

DOWNLOADS: None

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Open new white canvas 350w x 150h.

  2. Path drawing tool -3d mode - shape circle - color - turquoise - draw a shape approx 5 x 5. Go to your Easy Palette and Wrap Gallery, Path Wrap, choose Path Wrap 16, right click, modify properties and apply - change count to 35 and click ok.

  3. Right click and duplicate this piece then go up to your Transform Tool and resize by a difference of 10 (if the width and heighth show 55, then reduce to 45)right click select all objects, right click, align, center both. Continue doing this step until you have decreased down to the size middle you want for the center stone. For the center stone, I just used the same color, same circle shape and made one larger that would fit in the middle. Place it, right click, select all, right click, align, center both.

  4. Okay, the next step will be the same, but you can do some color changes for variety. Only difference is, instead of decreasing the size by 15, increase the size from the last ring each time by 15 until you have the desired size. You might need to go up to Photo, Focus, on each ring and choose options, and select 1 or 2, depending on how sharp you want it, for some reason, my rings started blurring on me??? They didn't in the first two ornaments I made. Go figure huh!!! LOL Don't forget after each ring to right click select all objects, right click align, center both. The last row, I right clicked, arrange, sent to back. Then right click, select all objects, merge as single object.

  5. Okay, it's easy now. All you have to do is duplicate the main piece, reduce the size by 20 percent, then duplicate that piece and put one on each side. Right click, arrange and send both these pieces to the back, both still selected, align, align bottom. Now duplicate the smaller piece, decrease it's size and put one on each side, send to the back, align bottom, right click, select all objects, merge as single object, and there you have it, a beautiful Navajo hair ornament!

  6. Here is another one I did. You can make all kinds of variations! You your enjoy this tutorial!

    HAVE FUN!!! - YOU'RE DONE!!!
