PI VERSION: 8
LEVEL: Intermediate
MAIN TOOLS: Path Drawing Tool, Line & Arrow Tool, Easy Palette,(for presets), Transform Tool and GA5.
DOWNLOADS: If you wish to use the same presets, they can be downloaded from Rosie's site - http://www.rosiehardman.com/pipresets.htm
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Open new canvas, any color, 325Wx325H.
- Outline Drawing Tool - 2d, any color, (only used as a guide) custom shape - heart - draw a heart shape in center of canvas.
- Path Drawing Tool - 3dmode - border 12 and width 30 - custom shape - heart - draw a small heart approx 50x50 and fill with desired pattern or color from your easy palette.
You are going to make approximately 18 of these so right click and duplicate this heart 17 more times and fill each one with desired pattern or color.
- Place these hearts around your frame - using transform tool, rotate by degree, to adjust the fit around the frame. When done to your likeness, right click, select all objects,
right click and merge as single object.
- Okay, now for the middle, make two more hearts, one larger than the other, and fill with desired pattern or color. For the fastener, go to line and arrow tool - border 1 - and
draw 2 straight lines, one longer than the other.
- Back to Path Drawing Tool, select circle shape, 3d mode - border 3 - make 4 small circles and fill with desired presets. I used copper 3 from the EP, Material Attribute - metallic.
Place these 4 circles as shown in the pic, one on each end of the 2 straight lines you drew. When done, arrange one 1 line with 2 of the circles and 1 of your hearts, right click, merge
as single object. Do this for the other line, circles and heart. Arrange in middle as shown, using transform tool, rotate by degree, to adjust to fit.
- That's it, you're done!!
BONUS! To animate your heart:
- Make three copies of your heart (ctrl + d) and save and close your original.
- Save a copy of your first duplicate with original settings as heart1.jpg.
- Second copy of your duplicate - transform tool - rotate by degree - and rotate the larger heart about 10 to 15 degrees to the left and the smaller heart the same to the right. Save
as heart2.jpg.
- Third copy of duplicate, using transform tool again, rotate by degrees and rotate the larger heart to the right approx 10 to 15 degrees and the smaller heart the same to the left.
Save as heart3.jpg.
- Now open up GA5, use the Animation Wizard, put in the size of your saved images, next select add images, browse to where you saved yours and select heart1.jpg - add image, heart2.jpg - add
image, select heart3.jpg.
- Preview, and if satisfied, optimize and save your image as a "gif" and you're done!
HAVE FUN!!! - I hope you enjoyed this tut!
