INSTRUCTIONS:


  1. Open new white canvas 400x400.

  2. Path Drawing Tool - 3dmode - rectangle - border 11 - any color, draw a shape approx 280x20 - Go to you Material Attribute Gallery-Realistic-Use T1 or any other of your choice.

  3. Standard Selection Tool - Select On Object - rectangle - draw a shape approx 30x20 about a quarter of the way from the end, as shown.

  4. Right click on this selection and convert to object. Go up to your Edit/Fill-click on Texture tab, use whatever texture you desire. I used my Woods Gallery and selected a horizontal wood type. Right click, arrange, bring to front - Right click, duplicate, move to other end of stick. Right click, select all objects, right click, merge as single object.

  5. Line & Arrow Tool - 3d mode - color dark brown - border 3 spline shape or freehand, whichever you are most comfortable with, draw a couple of lines (cords) towards end of stick as shown.

  6. Go to other end of stick and draw a couple of more cords, then draw a couple of cords hanging down. Decorate as desired with beads and feathers.

  7. Go back to the other end of stick and add beads all the way down for as long as you like. When satisfied with length, add a couple of cords coming out from the ends.

  8. I added a small red star to the light colored selections of wood on the stick. Right click, select all objects, right click, merge as single object.



    There you go!! The walking stick was used in ceremonies of the Native American to discuss important things when in council. The person holding the walking stick was the only one allowed to talk at the time. They passed it around in a circle and everyone was allowed their turn to voice their opinion.
