Text Box: Thackley Juniors Presentation 2008

This year’s presentation was held over the weekend of 17/18 May 2008.  There were 4 presentation events due to the number of teams now at the club.  The coaches of every team were presented with a gift for the time and effort they put in throughout the year.  They all came up for their presentation to some kind words from the events presenter Lee Robinson, and music which was particular to them.

Saturday evening saw the U11 & U12 age groups for both the girls and boys presented with their awards for the season.

First up for presentation on the night was the U12 girls team.  They were presented a trophy for winning their West Riding Girls division with a league record number of goals scored in a season. Picking up the individual awards were Ruth Dawson for Player’s Player of the Year and Molly-Mae Sharp won the Match Point award for collecting the most player of the match awards throughout the season.  Ruth and Molly-Mae also picked up the Coaches Player of the Year awards.

The U12 boys finished runners up in their Craven League division and the team received their Craven League trophies.  This years Player’s Player of the year was Kyle Pierce with the Coaches award going to Elliott Godfrey-Clark.  Josh Allen picked up the Match Point award for collecting most man of the matches throughout the season.

 

The U11 girls were presented their trophies for the season with the individual awards going to Natalie Cooper for Player’s Player of the Year and Bethany Clifford collecting the Coaches award.  Tonisha Burdett won the Match Point award for most player of the match awards over the season.

The U11 boys collected their trophies for the season.  The Thunder team picked up their awards first with Kieran Trueman collecting the Player’s Player of the Year award and James Parkinson awarded the Match Point trophy for collecting the most player of the match awards throughout the season.  Kieran Trueman and Harvey Senior each received the coach’s Player of the Year award.

The Lightning team also received their trophies for participating during the season with the individual awards going to Harvey Southern for Player’s Player of the Year and Joseph Barnes picked up the Coach’s Player of the Year.  Sam Thornton received the Match Point award for collecting the most player of the match awards during the season.

Sunday saw three presentations taking place with the first presentation at lunch time.  This saw the U6 and U7 age groups collect their trophies.

Up first were the U6 squad who have completed there first year of playing football. Because the U6’s won’t play their first competitive games until September, they picked up Thackley Juniors medals for their first year. Their special award was the Most Improved Player Award and this was presented to Dominica Warrington.

The U7 squads followed and all picked up their participation awards for their first year in the Keybury League.  The main awards for the Thunder team were presented and the Parent’s Player of the Year went to Ben Johnson and the Coach’s Player of the Year was awarded to Lewis Collett.

For the Lightning squad the Parents Player of the Year Award was won by Fabian Warrington with the Coach’s Player of the Year going to Jorge Jakubiak.

The second presentation of the afternoon was made to the U8 and U10 age groups.

The U8 squads were first to be presented and packed the event with their Thunder, Lightning and Storm teams.

The Thunder squad received their trophies first for competing in the Keybury League with the Parent’s Player of the Year awarded to Joshua Debenham and the Coach’s Player of the Year going to Rian Boyle.

The Lightning squad was next to be presented and received their Keybury League trophies. The Parent’s Player of the Year award was won by Jack Bedford with the Coach’s Player of the Year trophy awarded to Jack Gough.

The Storm squad were then presented with their league trophies by Rob Palmer. The Parent’s Player of the Year award went to Jordan Kay with the Coach’s Award going to a very proud Sam Burdett. 

The second age group presented at the third presentation of the weekend was the U10’s. The Thunder team was presented with their individual trophies and Conor Swales proudly picked up both the Parent’s and Coach’s Player of the Year awards.

The Lightning squad were then presented with their league trophies.  The Parent’s Player of the Year Award went to Reece Etienne with the Coach’s award going to Adam Marshall.

Our final and fourth presentation of the weekend was held on Sunday evening for the U9 age group which has an impressive 6 teams.

The first team presented was the Lightning team. They all received their individual awards with the Parent’s Player of the Year going to Lewis Haynes and the Coach’s award going to Callum Sweeney.

The Dragons were next up to receive their trophies with Les and Steve orchestrating the show! The Parent’s Player of the Year went to Lewis Hartley with Jack Fitton picking up the Coach’s Player of the Year.

The Knights received their trophies for competing in the Keybury League with the Parent’s player of the Year proudly going to Lawrence Rhodes and the Coach’s Player of the Year awarded to Casey Taglione.

The Crusaders were presented with their individual tropies for competingin the Keybury League but also picked up a League Runners Up trophy.  The Parents Player of the Year award went to  Steven Demkowicz with the Coach’s award being picked up by Ben Stockdale.

The Warriors also had plenty to celebrate as they also picked up a Runners Up trophy as well as their individual trophy for playing in the league.  The Parent’s award was presented to Ollie Sharp with the Coach’s award going to Rhys Allen.

The final presentation was made to the Thunder team who all received their trophy for playing in the league. The Parents Player of the Year Award went to Casey Welsh with Cameron Smithurst picking up the Coach’s Player of the Year Award.  They squad also received their winners medals for becoming Champions of their division and the team trophy from the proud coaches Sharon & Paul.
