Truth Hiders and Hoarders

Last week's article about me always seeming to be late or catching up on life was a bit reminiscent, maybe, but in fact a true and not without purpose story. For one thing it was written as an encouragement to all those who may have inflicted themselves with the same or similar doubts to the extent that it dampens their spirit of life and results in negatives such as, "I'm too old", or "it's too late", "if l were younger", "if I were smarter" and a jillion other cop out statements which I truly believe are devilish pratter, i.e., not of God.

Know, also, that the purpose of the writing was in no way meant to be advisory. It is not a prescription to cure all who seem to come in late. Taking two aspirins and a large dose of "if I can do it, you can do it" daily as an anti-depressant medication is also devilish pratter. I can kiss your elbow (if you allow it) but you cannot (kiss your elbow) no matter how hard you try - give it up.

The main purpose for this writing was to appeal to your God given intelligence so that you might look around and determine if you are doing or not doing something only because that's what everyone else is doing or not doing. We are all creatures of habit and tend to fall into the same rut as our predecessors and continue in truth or error just as they did, rarely questioning the wisdom of blind obedience to mortal man. That's the wisdom I followed as a boy when I rejected a formal education in favor of "make hay (money) while the sun is shining" during WWII when no one willing to work was asked their age.

Well, now I find myself yet again embarking on something I should have started over fifty years ago when I first became aware of it. I noticed then that I was surrounded by many denominational and non-denominational churches with large followings, each of whom were claiming to teach and practice Christianity exactly the way God intended it to be done. Can't be folks!

My immediate and future intent in these latter days is to make ashamed as many as shall "…with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgement now of a long time lingereth not, their damnation slumbereth not", II Peter 2-3.

Have a good week!
