The King was in the process of forming the constitution that would change the country's administration from absolute monarchy to constitutional monarchy. However, those who could not wait forced the change to occur immedeately.

To prevent violence and bloodshed, the King passed on his absolute power to the people.

Consequently, the King and the Queen left Siam. He later abdicated and remained abroad for the rest of his life.
