This internationally recognised soprting event comprising a 1800-metre swim, a 55 kilometre race and a 12-kilometre run attracts world - class partcipants from all over the world. Qualifiers of the triahlon are able to enter the prestigious Hawaii Ironman Triathon.

It is belived that the Loi KrathongFestival originated in Sukhothai, the first Thai capital. Creating a mesmerizing sight, an unusual ritual of this northern capital's Loi krathong Festival is the launching of Lanna - style hot air balloons, which is considered by locals to mtid them of their troubles. Traditional floats are also set adrift on the Ping River. In addition , there are various other forms of fun and a glamorous  beauty pageant.

Surin Elephant Round -Up Show

Introducted in 1960, this internationally famous yearly event attract people from all over the world to Surin to see more than one hundred elephants participated in spectacular shows that include colorful processions, a tug of war between elephant and men, demontrations of log pulling skills, and various other etraordinary feats set in a carnival atmosphere.

River Kwae Bridge Week Fair 2000

Silk Fair

This event is held in conjunction with the Phuk Siao. Sunflower Blooming Season

The hills and valleys of Mae Hongson, one of Thailand's most naturally scenic areas, are full of gold when the suflower bursts into broom during this perio. When  the flowers fade, the seeds are collected to make insecticides. Doi Mae U kor, Amphoe Khun Yuam is considered to be the site where the blooming sunflowers are at there most photogenic.
