ISSUE NO. 2 APRIL-MAY 1993
Thanks to those who sent contributions for the second issue of the Southeast Asian Archaeology International Newsletter. We apologize to those not included in the directory of archaeologists working in Southeast Asia and who, as a result, did not receive the first issue. Included with this issue is an addendum to the directory listing additions and corrections. Please continue to send us further changes and additions. To those who did not receive the first issue, the purpose of this newsletter is to disseminate information on current research in Southeast Asia and other relevant information using an informal format. Through this newsletter we hope to encourage communication among archaeologists residing in different countries who share a research commitment to Southeast Asian archaeology. The deadline for submissions for the October-November, 1993 issue is October l, 1993. Please send short research summaries (or just a sentence stating where your current project is located), information on upcoming conferences and symposia, symposia paper abstracts, summaries of workshops, recent publications, dissertations and theses, granting programs, etc. in English or your native language to the editors at the above address. We can also be reached via e-mail: Bacus' address is K4EK@UM.CC.UMICH.EDU and Shoocongdej's address is 6DOZ@UM.CC.UMICH.EDU
Rasmi Shoocongdej, in the spirit of encouraging dialogue among archaeologists working in Southeast Asia, has initiated a new section entitled, Conversations Across the Continents. We encourage you to contribute to this column.
As originally stated in the announcement of this newsletter, we wish to have the editorship rotate every 2 years. We plan to edit 2 more issues and then would like to pass the newsletter to new editors. Please contact us if you would like further information or are interested in becoming the next editor.
