The draft papers were included in a pre-conference book and included the following speakers and titles: Ian Glover (Institute of Archaeology, University College London) 1. Some recent research on the prehistory of Mainland Southeast Asia. 2. Recent archaeological research at Tra Kieu, Vietnam. E. Nitta (Center for Southeast Asian Archaeology, Kagoshima University, Japan) The Mekhong Basin and its neighbouring regions toward early civilization. Surapol Natapintu (Faculty of Archaeology, Silpakorn University, Bangkok) Current knowledge on the development of Late Prehistoric Culture in Central Thailand with special reference to the Khao Wong Prachan area, Lopburi Province. Cheng-hwa Tsang (Acadmia Sinica, Taipei) and Ray Santiago (National Museum, Manila) Northern Luzon Archaeological Project: progress and prospect. Ray Santiago Archaeological exploration in Batanes Islands, northern Philippines, 1994-97. Hsiao-Chun Hung (Academia Sinica, Taipei) A study of the stone adzes of the Philippines and related problems. KJ Chang (Institute of Archaeology, University College London) Trade ceramics and the study of proto-historic Philippines. Chung-yu Chen (Academia Sinica, Taipei) The archaeological approach for a Bay Delta environment: a viewpoint on the Chuchiang Delta.
The presentations were followed by a general discussion and conclusions led by Dr Tsang, Cheng-hwa. Although most of the papers were bound and distributed at the meeting I understand that there is an intention of making a more formal publication of the workshop.
