touched me with her nose, her invitation to continue playing. It was impossible for me to move my fins. Suddenly, she disappeared to where she came from--the bottom of the sea. I found myself alone, my heart full of affection and gratitude. I did not yet have the strength to go back to my ship mates (whose euphoria lasted several days.) Without a doubt, I knew, I had experienced the special qualities of a dolphin. Dolfi conveyed to me that human beings have lost the joy for living, and that relationship between dolphins and man is not only possible, but necessary. A short time ago I heard that my dear friend Dolfi died. She was killed by fishermen who were either frightened or ignorant. What I know as well is that death does not exist and I believe this incredible "angel of the water" is now in Heaven, making God laugh or playing with the other angels, radiating her unconditional love that she transmitted to so many human beings (or those of us who have forgotten Heaven.) I would like to convey this message to her: Thank you, Dolfi, for helping me to be a child again. I will see you again at the end of the road. Could I dive with you once more on the light cloud of the infinite ocean of God? |
