Ayuthaya, a city greater than the London or Paris of its time, was the
dominant power in the fertile Menam or Chao Phraya Basin. The island-city
situated at the confluence of three rivers, the Chao Phraya, the Pasak,
and the Lopburi, which grew in to one of Asia's most renowned metropolitises
for 417 years from 1350. In 1760, the Burmese beseiged and so utterly destroyed
Ayuthaya that it was never rebuilt.

St. Joeseph's Cathedral, Wat Luang, Wat Chai Wattanaram, Wat Phra Sri Sanphet,
Queen Suriyothai Memorial.
