Paulie tackles the problem

Part--2

Sad, sad Paulie, growing sadder still.
“That red ball‘s now bigger than Father’s ladder.”
Yes, little Paulie had tremendous will--
But, poor Paulie couldn't be any sadder.

Then Paulie thought--and an idea came--
“Of course!” he exclaimed, “my tree house!”
And rolled that great ball the color of flame
And scurried up the tree just like a mouse.

Little Paulie smiled, ”This will do the trick!
I’ll make that ball soar, like out of sight!
The he set himself for a powerful kick.
--The ball was suddenly blocking out the light!

It grew and grew and blocked out the sun.
It grew and towered over all the trees.
No longer did poor Paulie think it fun.
He could not kick a ball--nor feel the breeze.

Clambering down, he sprawled on the grass--
That red ball now more than he could bear.
In silence hours, watching clouds go pass,
And then he spied the mountain...crystal clear!

His will was not the least bit mountian hight,
Nor tree house, ladder, nor even the door stoop.
Yet Paulie then decided, “Just one more try--
Before that red ball some how starts to root!”

He studied that red ball from side to side.
Round and round that huge ball Paulie when.
He was determined. ”Oh, no, a root!” he cried.
And tugged until his strength was almost spent.

Then little Paulie leaned against that ball--
As big as any house and mountain, too!
It was as if confronting a red, brick wall.
With all his might he pushed; it grew and grew!

Hehuffed and heaved and rolled it to a hill.
He huffed and puffed to climb that hill so high!
But little Paulie now had considerable will!
“I’ll kick this great red ball into the sky!”
