THINKING IN THE MAIN

This is the presentation. This is the focal point of the "linking"--the sharing between the minds of the American reality and the reality of "the other" America.

Here in America, that is the United States--this Republic, we are ever thrusting Democracy and "Freedom" upon those beyond our reach. Others--within our borders--we smother with "love failing."

Not long past a Cuban youth was fished from the sea. His survival was nothing less than miraculous. Upon these shores was he subjected to politics uniquely American. A country valuing "family unity" and "rule-of-law" was prepared to play politics with the life of one so desparately plucked up, one so tenderly immature--but five years of age--yet still so near the cradle.

The following account I wish to share with you merely as a poetic (liberal) rendering of the child's desparate state out there upon the waves. This is my attempt to record what seems to be of a historic nature in the Hispanic community.
