The kit was built by a wealthy architect in New York State who had built many kit cars. It was built on a 1975 Volkswagen Chassis and used the engine/drive train out of a 1974 Porsche 914. This Kit was assembled in 1978 and 1979. He kept the car in his personal collection for about 20 years.

The second owner bought the car in 2001. He had an electrical engineer pull all the wiring out of the car and bring everything up to code. Starting with a current GM labeled fuse box; he completed one wire at a time. The interior was updated from the 70’s styling with full carpeting and a set of new Programmable White Face VDO gauges that were installed into a custom made dash. The sound system was replaced with new speakers and a cd player.

I acquired the car in March 04. After driving for a short while, it was obvious of the HUGE blind spots while trying to maneuver in traffic. I had a camera installed on the rear of the car and a 7 inch LCD screen mounted to the dash for the display.

Once the weather got warmer, I started to hit some of the car shows. I absolutely love pulling up in this thing! Peoples' initial thought is that it looks weird, and then as I'm driving to my spot, I open the top, and everybody's jaw drops. Everybody points... I'm not kidding. I had to make up an information display for the car because I get asked “What the hell is that?” every 10 minutes from somebody else. It helps alleviate some of the questions. I just love the looks it gets. I've posted up some trophy pix. Once I was driving down the interstate on the way home and two blondes in a BMW convertible pulled up next to me and one took a picture of my car while driving down the road!! I love it… I've had this happen a couple different times now.
