CD REVIEWS:  Page 11

Artist: Motley Crue

Album: New Tattoo

Label: Motley Records

The Review: Ok...first off...stop your snickering dammit...so what if I like the hairband era!  At least things were a bit more happier when it came to music with songs about chicks, partying, boozin', and all out chaos on "The Wild Side"!  Still you have to wonder, are these guys poppin' out this new CD to prove that they can still rock or is it for the...dun dun da...gasp...money.  Well one way or another, three of the original members of the Crue are back (yep old Tommy Boy is still having fun with his mid-life crisis band Methods of Mayhem) and have Randy Castillo (of Ozzy fame) keeping the beats for them on drums.  The songs seem to be a mild re-hash of their hair band stripper music days with songs like "Hell on High Heels", "She Needs Rock and Roll", and "Punched in the Teeth By Love" (isn't that country song?). Who can also forget the power ballad feel of the title track "New Tattoo" as well? (Who would want to remember that should be the proper question...) However the band adds a modern twist to the song "Porno Star" which pretty much deals with Cyber Sex.  No matter what, its time to face the music...the hair band era is looming and itching to make it into the spotlight again.  Will they ever get past the snickers and wise cracks from modern rock fans?  We may never know...but will this CD be fun for old school fans?  I like it but I am sorry to say that bands like the Crue had their time and I want to remember them for when they were on top of the music world.  Not when they were struggling to sell a few copies of their newest attempt for some extra cash and to prove that they are still cool.  Either way, try on a "New Tattoo" and make your own decission...

Sorry...Pic Unavailable

Artist: Misery Loves Company

Album: Your Vision Is Mine To Share

Label:
Earache

The Review: Just when I thought that I would never find out what NIN sounded like if they drank too much beer, passed out, threw up, played a little bit, than went back to being passed out then this abomination of a CD came into my life and all was made clear!  Man this is one CD with a total accumilation of totally useless and boring songs.  This band tries to touch on deep dark emotional subjects but only end up with a soundtrack that would bore the crooners of the 20s and 30s.  This CD is an industrial wanna-be nightmare and should have never been let out into the public only if it was planning to be the cure for insomnia.  With that said, I will go on to the next CD review hoping that no one will be unfortunate to buy this disc.  Basically, if Misery truly does Love Company, sorry to say I won't be over for tea and biscuts if the band is there...

Artist: Sea of Green

Album: Northern Lights

Label: TMC

The Review: Just when you think TMC couldn't attack the modern rock scene with more blasts from stoner rock days past guess again!  Sea of Green proves to be another impressive blaring CD with 70s rocks styles providing true music for the open road and into the great beyond. The band does a great job providing the listener with a sterophonic experience mixing hyptnotising rock melodies and the traditional low key stoner rock (esq) vocals.  So strap yourself into your seat and prepare for some more fun from those funky retro dudes and chicks from TMC and Sea of Green!  Just think, I only reviewed the EP...imagine what the full length will sound like...
