Artist: Sinergy

Album: To Hell And Back

Label: Nuclear Blast

The Review: Well my metal friends, let me introduce you to the CD that could very well be topping the loud charts of CMJ for a very long time!  There is nothing much to call this disc except captivating with it's great 80s speed metal style and diverse mixes of speeds.  The lyrics have a delicious little devil feel to them (The Bitch is Back and Wake Up In Hell are perfect examples of this...) and are only made more wicked by lead vocalist Kimberly!  (I am surprised I went so far into this review without mentioning her by the way...)  This is a woman that takes no BS behind the mike showing all metal icons that she is a force to be reckoned with.  Her voice is powerfull to say the least and the flexibility she shows between her croons and wails is flat out awesome. And with the band she has behind her, who knows how far this CD will go!  So get on some cool clothing and take a trip to hell and back with your metal friends Sinergy!

Artist: 40 Grit

Album: Heads

Label: Metal Blade

The Review: Once in a great while, in the mix of CDs that are either over-mainstream or over-underground in styles comes one that is truly in the middle.  That is where a loud gritty band like 40 Grit comes in.  In so many words, this CD will punch you in the nuts and make you like it with it's dark guitar overtones and numerous switches!  The vocalist for the band (James Santiago) only ads to this with his low key and raspy vocals.  I think this CD can be best described as Prong meets Monster Magnet.  With that said, you can only imagine the crazy rock you will hear on this CD!  Whether the songs are slow, fast, or medium on this disc, they all have an addicting errie feel to them which will keep metal fans smiling for a very long time!

Artist: Dee Snider

Album: Never Let The Bastards Get You Down

Label: Koch

The Review: Man...whos the next front man from the 80s to come back?  We should start a pool or something.  (My bet is on "Dizzy"  Dean Davidson from Britny Fox...
wa-hoo...)  Anyhow, Ex-Twisted Sister front man Dee Snider is back with a new disc as you can see.  What is there to say about it?  Well, I think it was actually done more for fun than anything.  Either that or a tribute to several of Snider's musical influences such as Lemmy Kilmeister of Motorhead, 50s music, and his "wife and best friend" Suzette.  Keep in mind that not every song on this CD is a cover but there are a few on there mixed in with metal attitude songs of old like "Our Voice Will Be Heard".  Snider's voice is still as raspy as ever and hasn't changed much throughout the years.  Its good to see that the man who once belted out such ballads as "We're Not Gonna Take It"  and "I Wanna Rock" is out there trying to remind the new generation of angry rockers that is ok to be yourself within this overally repetitive society of ours!
