The Review: Ok, thats it...this Dungeons and Dragons crap has gone way to far. This band prides itself as being "Epic Fantasy Metal". What does that mean exactly...well this is my definition. Expect some washed out 80s power/speed metal with lyrics dealing with kings, warriors, and magicians. Well if you like 80s metal and role playing then this is the CD for you. However, lets face it, this CD probably won't sell enough copies to pay for the artwork (which is cool I might say) on the cover. I would say the major excitment |

The Review: An impressive follow up to the 1994 "Nativity in Black" Black Sabbath tribute. This CD is a must for fans of Sabbath and modern rock. With bands like Godsmack, Machine Head, Static-X, Megadeth, and Pantera doing classic covers of Sabbath tunes like "Sweet Leaf", "Hole in the Sky", "Behind the Wall of Sleep", "Never Say Die", and "Electric Funeral" this CD is bound for major radio play! One of the most impressive tracks is Primus teaming up with Ozzy for "N.I.B." Primus supplies the music while Ozzy sings the song as if it was written yesterday. Overall, most of the covers are true to the original but some of the bands add their own twist which in some cases is ok. However, tracks done by Hed(PE) and Busta Rhymes prove to be rather annoying. Still, this CD is a great tribute to the legendary Black Sabbath! |

The Review: I have to be honest, I never really got into this band. Maybe it was the lead singer's bad haircut in the "Black Flag" video or maybe its just their tendency to move fast then slow, fast then slow, fast then slow. Either way, I think you get the point. This CD proves to be yet another collection of grindy post grunge songs with harmonizing vocals. The songs seem to keep the fast then slow tradition also so beware. Nothing more nothing less...I am not crazy about this disc but I guess it could be a lot worse. |
