The Review: Yep, Chino and the boys are finally back after their last effort, "Around The Fur". This CD is alerady flying off music racks everywhere...why you may ask? Well I find it amusing that the single "Change" came out about a month before the anticipated release of this new full length CD. So before people even had a chance to turn the dial, they were caught singing along with the new song. That is why so many people marked the release date down as soon as the found out the new CD was due out. Aside from my theory, this band seems to keep true to their original style with a mix of dreary songs that go along well with Chino's whiny and often breathy vocals. The one thing I really never liked about this band though is their lack of stability in song styles. One song can drudge along at tortoise pace and the next can rip you apart like a tiger in the wild. Oh well, for what its worth, this CD proves to be another decent release for a band that continues to prove that they are not another Korn rip off. So saddle up and ride the white pony...it could prove to be a fun ride for some or a bumpy ride for others. |

The Review: If only I could have seen my face when I opened the mail and found this CD waiting for me. The grin on my face must have been huge! Wow is all I have to say about this CD which come to us from these legends of true evil-satanic death metal. Staying faitfull to their label Roadrunner and their sacreligious beliefs, you can only imagine the popularity of this CD with the true twisted death metal freaks. Basically, where certain bands play with the idea of putting down the "religious right" Deicide (as always) comes out and spits a huge, disgusting, brown lunger on them! This CD keeps that tradition very much alive with songs like, "Suffer Again", "Forever Hate You", "Apocolyptic Fear", and many others. The lryics are up front and brutal and with Glen Burton's trademark deep gutoral yells and screams, you will know for sure that these guys don't f**k around. The gutairs and drums never seem to stop their relentless assault which will make you feel the pounding of the war this band is waging. So get up off your ass, blare this awesome CD, and prepare to do some serious thrashing dammit! |

The Review: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I don't know what to think of this CD. Looking on the bright side, this is probably best described as death metal with a bit of a dark humor. With so many bands intent on keeping to a scary theme to scary music, its amusing to see a band do this. These guys are intent on attacking the system with songs like "Bill Clinton is a Nymphomaniac" (I had to laugh at the lyric "White House Puppet, She's Pulling His Strings, Her Names Hillary, She Reigns King") and "Price For Freedom". The music itself is blaring but on the bad side, it sounds in some parts like it was produced in a garage with one of those mini-cassette recorders and sent out to the record stores with little to no editing. This CD is an all out cuss fest as well so expect a whole bunch of non-radio friendly tracks. The question is, can you really tell what front man Ralphy Boy is saying with his barks and screams? So in all honesty, if you are a fan of underground death metal with a twist, check this one out. If not, have fun at the Uncle Kracker concert loser! |
