The Tale of My Removable Skin

February 18, 2004

This is another one of those dreams that went on forever, but I remember very little of it. What a do remember though, is thoroughly bizarre.
For some strange medical reason that I can't recall now, I had to cut the skin all the way around my wrists down to the bone. There was no blood, it didn't really hurt, it was just kind of uncomfortable. Then I discovered that I could push the skin back up my arms and look at the bones (they weren't bloody at all either, just stark white bones) and I went wandering around showing people my bones, my friend Mikey was one, I think one of my nieces was another. After a while, the cuts around my wrists would start to heal, but I would break them open again so I could push my skin back and show somebody else my neat trick.
In the midst of my wandering around, I stopped by the house that I used to live in, where, for some reason I'd left the walls of my old room covered in tapestries and road signs (more signs than I've ever had, even when my stash was combined with Katy's) and I'd suddenly decided that I wanted that stuff back. So I went in and was talking to the guy that had moved into my room, and he was saying things like, "Whew! You have no idea how long it took me to take those signs off the walls! Isn't that illegal? How much money are those signs worth?? I mean, if you were to be caught with them, how much would you be fined?" And I was just rambling on about that, blah blah blah, kinda flirting, kinda freaked out that he was asking so many questions involving stolen property and fines and police, etc., and then my alarm went off and I woke up.
As I'm writing this, I keep getting little glimmers of the rest of the dream kind of flitting through the edges of my brain, but nothing is really coming back.
