Vision blinks, absorbing this all quietly. That was Talon, she recognises those wings.
This was an interesting delvelopment..
Posted by Genesis on 7/26/01 at 9:23 AM
He whispered to her, as they were still close "Fantim is a mind-reader... she
can dig down, find your worst fear, and use your own mind to make it real."
The immages continue... A flash of when they returned home. Genesis watches his sister
warrily, her wound cleaned and dressed to the best of his ability (he had not yet
found his healing talent) and she lays still on a bed, pale and weak... She is sitting
up, looking at him. "Dear brother, why did you follow me?" and that was
the last he knew of his 'sister'. To his eyes, she suddenly fell back onto the bed
and died...
"That last part seemed real, didn't it?" he's still whispering, as if afraid
to reveal this secret "She's very good at what she does." he backs away
and the close connection is dropped. He goes on, in a somewhat louder voice, though
still quieted "The only reason she can't do that now, to us, is that she is
too far away." He pauses a moment to think "Somewhere near the diner's
distance, I'd say."
A last nod, then he waits to see Vision's reaction.
Fantim was still 'elsewhere', but Genesis could feel her presence, still lingering
about them.
Posted by Vision on 7/26/01 at 9:44 AM
She's silent for a long moment, taking it all in and thinking it over. "Yes,
very good." She's silent for a moment longer. "Near the diner, eh? I wonder
if she's gone in.."
Posted by Genesis on 7/26/01 at 9:48 AM
He gives a slight shrug "I can't tell, all I know is..." he pauses as some
information he hadn't expected came shooting back from his energy thread "She's
comming closer..."
Posted by Vision on 7/26/01 at 9:49 AM
She scowls. If Fantim arrives at Vision's apartment she's going to be in for some
trouble.
Posted by Genesis on 7/26/01 at 9:51 AM
He closes his eyes and contacts his sister ~Why?~ He can feel her stop her progress
and smiles to himself - it was working...
Posted by Vision on 7/26/01 at 9:52 AM
Simply waits, somewhat less then calm.
Posted by Fantim on 7/26/01 at 9:58 AM
She chuckles and replys ~You were never supposed to know. But that doesn't change
a thing. If it haddn't ended like that, I'd have just gone out and gotten 'hit by
a car'~ she laughs again and places an image of herself standing on the street corner
as a car drives by. Then suddenly, she's under the car screaming for help and crying
pittifully, while everyone around trys to save her... Another mental chuckle ~Nice
show?~
Posted by Genesis on 7/26/01 at 9:58 AM
He blinks at her play, then scowls ~Who are you?~ His eyes are staring, slightly
glazed and unfocused as he keeps the connection.
Posted by Vision on 7/26/01 at 10:06 AM
Vision sits waiting.
Posted by Genesis on 7/26/01 at 10:12 AM
Genesis winces at her next laugh, and she shows him things that could be memory,
or just more images...
Posted by Vision on 7/26/01 at 10:20 AM
Vision waits, wondering is she's getting everything, or if bits are missing.
Posted by Genesis on 7/26/01 at 10:28 AM
She sends images of two babies in a hospital, one Talon, one herself. Twins. Their
mother had died in labor, and their father had left them alone. Two groups of men
stand apart from them, watching eachother, guns drawn. One man snatches up a baby
with nearly white hair that had to be fantim, and the other group shouts something
and start firing... Over the chaos, a new man, one that had just entered, grabs the
second baby, a red head, and dashes from the room. The second group follows...
~Like the show? That was what happened. Believe me, I've seen the tapes...~
Posted by Vision on 7/26/01 at 10:30 AM
She stays waiting, watching Genesis.
Posted by Genesis on 7/26/01 at 10:31 AM
Fantim breaks the connection and Genesis snaps out of his trance, turning to Vision
to see if she caught any of that through the rose.
Posted by Vision on 7/26/01 at 10:34 AM
She blinks, having recieved a little of it, but not much. "What was that all
about?"
Posted by Genesis on 7/26/01 at 10:36 AM
"Kayli..." he sighs at the memory his 'sister' had shared with him, and
relays as much as he could to Vision. He tells her both of the babies' names, Kayli
and Mirrim, and who they had grown into away from eachother, Fantim and Talon...
Posted by Vision on 7/26/01 at 10:37 AM
She blinks again. "Now that's a history as strange as Kats.."
Posted by Genesis on 7/26/01 at 10:39 AM
He laughs, "I'll say. Especially since neither of them can sense the other untill
they are both of like mind..." he wonders where that came from, but realizes
that Fantim had shared a little more than she had intended to.
Posted by Vision on 7/26/01 at 10:40 AM
"Both are like of mind? That sounds like something from a play. Shakesphere
or something." She chuckles and quotes,"Both a like in dignity. It's certainly
a new twist."
Posted by Genesis on 7/26/01 at 10:53 AM
He smiles "Yes, it is, isn't it..?" he's slightly distracted, trying to
find Fantim again, but failing. "I can't find her... she could be anywhere."
he thinks a moment "If anything strange happens, tell me." he nods and
smiles.
Posted by Vision on 7/26/01 at 10:54 AM
"Um, sure."
Posted by Fantim on 7/26/01 at 10:57 AM
She grins as she feels him looking for her again, but eludes him easily. He wasn't
half as strong of mind as she. And it's not too dificult to find him either...
she grins again as she approaches the building where they are, comming into range...
Posted by Vision on 7/26/01 at 10:58 AM
Vision takes another sip of her drink, which has gone cold since she last sipped
at it and listens. Something wasn't right.
Posted by Fantim on 7/26/01 at 11:00 AM
Fantim grins and concentrates on Vision, searching for her fear...
Posted by Vision on 7/26/01 at 11:04 AM
She snarls, bumping the table as she jumps up. If there was one thing she knew, it
was the feeling of someone rooting around in her mind. Paradox searched her out enough
that she instantly knew what was happening, and hated it. The sky outside darkened
rapidly, becoming dark and stormy in a matter of seconds. Being previously warned
by Genesis she throws every thought in her mind under a protective covering and snarls
again. This brings Paradox over, he's looking worried. Mirage peeks out of the kictchen
again, wondering what's wrong.
Posted by Fantim and Genesis on 7/27/01 at 1:12 PM
He blinks, realizing what's happening instantly, though through the rone or previous
experience, he wan't sure.
Fantim smiles at the challenge, but she was very good at what she did. She kept a
fery small thread where she wanted to see, one that would not be felt in the least,
and charged off in another direction, seeming to find something that wan't locked.
She hammers at this new area with all she had - which was alot - and smiles as she
feels it give slightly under the attack.
Posted by Vision on 7/27/01 at 1:16 PM
Vision winces visibly, but her eyes are quite literally blazing. They've turned pure
white, with no pupil or iris. A lighting strike hits very close to where Fantim is
standing.
Posted by Fantim and Genesis on 7/27/01 at 1:21 PM
She smiles Not bad at all... and, since she is still connected to Vision's
mind, tells it to believe that she is running now, away... out of range... Her grin
widens when she sees the image take, and slowly pulls her presence away from Vision,
leaving the invisible thread behind.
Genesis watches the sky outside and turns back to Vivion, worry written all over
his face. He reaches out with a strand of energy as small and invisible as Fantim's,
and finds her while she's busy with something else.
Posted by Vision on 7/27/01 at 1:23 PM
Since Vision doesn't even realize the storm outside is her doing, the mental persuasion
does very little. The storm continues to rage outside. Her teeth are bared in a snarl.
Mirage's eyes widen as she first looks at the storm outside, then turns to study
her sister.
Posted by Fantim and Genesis on 7/27/01 at 1:21 PM
He keeps an eye on her, taking careful note of what's happening around her.
Fantim blinks as she realizes that Vivion's mind doens't accept that she is the scource
of the storm, and almost laughs What an amazing thing... She keeps the image
of her leaving in place, and sits down for a bit of a wait while Vision hopefully
calms down a bit, confident that she will not be seen or recognized.
Genesis, meanwhile, keeps track of her exact location.
Posted by Vision on 7/27/01 at 1:31 PM
She's in such a blinding rage now that it's going to take a lot more then Fantim's
absence to calm her. In fact, that seems to be part of the problem. Now that Vision's
lost a target to rage against, she's simply raging. Both Mirage and Paradox look
a bit frightened.
~I've never seen her like this.~ Paradox commented in his quietest mind voice to
Mirage.
~I haven't seen her like this since..~ Mirage's mind voice trails off. ~I' haven't
seen her like this in a long time.~ She finally finishes.
Posted by Fantim and Genesis on 7/27/01 at 1:40 PM
He sees the two watching and, after a quick glance at Vision, walks over to stand
by them, talking confidentially. He looks out the window at the storm before he speaks
in a low voice "What's she doing? Why doesn't she go straight at Fantim?"
he shoots another glance at her "She doesn't seem like the kind of person to
play around like this..." he watches her, then turns back to Paradox, then Mirage,
searching their faces for answers.
Fantim simply waits out the storm.
Posted by Vision on 7/27/01 at 1:40 PM
Mirage glances at Vision somewhat worriedly before explaining in a hushed whisper
that can barely be heard above the storm. "She's not, at least purposely. Vision
doesn't want to admit she has the powers, therefore she's never worked to control
them. When we were younger we joked about her storm tantrums. It's still a joke to
her."
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 1:46 PM
He nods, thinking "But still, that first lightning strike was fairly close to
Fantim. Now they're just... everywhere. Could the first have been an accident? A
coincident?" he doesn't believe so, but he's not sure what he can do about it.
He could try that close contact through the rose, but he wasn't sure he wanted
to be that connected during the storm...
Posted by Vision on 7/27/01 at 1:49 PM
Paradoc takes the lead now. ~When Vision has something she wants to lash out at,
the storm does it for her. That's why I've nearly been fried half a dozen times.~
He makes a attempt at a joke before going serious again. ~Now she can't find the
person she was lashing out at, so she's simply lashing out at everything.~
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 2:02 PM
He blinks, somewhat surprised "Can't find her?" he looks at Vision again
"Hmmm, she must still be connected..." that last part was meant more for
himself, but he was thinking aloud. He decides, then strites over to where she stands
and places his hand on hers. The connection suddenly re-established, he lets her
see, through his mind's eye, the thread of energy still trained on Fantim...
Fantim, meanwhile, still sits waiting comfortably on a rooftop not far away.
Posted by Vision on 7/27/01 at 2:06 PM
Vision is somewhat surprised by the contact, but when she sees Fantim again, she
grins. It's not a pleasent expression. Her blazing eyes and pointed teeth make it
look even scarier. Three bolts of lightening smack all around Fantim.
Posted by Fantim and Genesis on 7/27/01 at 2:09 PM
She blinks, then gasps as she realizes how she was discovered. She enters her 'brothers'
mind and snarls mentaly. ~You.~ He winces at the hatred and promised revenge in that
single thought.
She looks up at the sky and retracts the thread from Vision's thoughts completely
as a bolt of lightning strikes it's target...
Through Genesis's energy thread, she can be seen falling to the ground when the bolt
strikes her, but suddenly disappears in a flash of light.
Posted by Vision on 7/27/01 at 2:12 PM
She grins again as the thread leaves her mind. It's a much more normal expression
now that she's calming down a bit. Vision frowns when she sees that Fantim has been
struck by lightening. "Now was that one of her illusions, or was it real. It
doesn't look like she was killed." Wonders if going down to check for a corpse
would prove anything.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 2:15 PM
He shrugs "You can never tell..." he smiles ruefully "She's very good
at what she does." He realizes that they're still connected, and removes his
hand, a little too quickly, somewhat embarassed, and hopes that she didn't catch
that last emotion when they were still close.
Posted by Vision on 7/27/01 at 2:19 PM
"Yes, maybe too good." She frowns reflectively. She's too distracted to
notice much except a little flash of emotion. She flicks an ear somewhat curiously,
but doesn't make any other reaction. Then she seems to realize that she's just seriously
freaked out, Mirage and Paradox were still watching her somewhat warrily. As if she
was a bomb ready to go off. Her ears flatten to her head with embaressment.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 2:21 PM
He smilesat her and turns back to the other two with a grin.
Posted by Vision on 7/27/01 at 2:27 PM
Paradox looks like he's about to comment, but then drops it. Considering what he's
just seen.... This didn't look like it was a good time to start aggravating Vision
again. That had been the most terrifying release of pure raw power he'd ever seen.
It also made him realize that Vision had never truly freaked out on him before. It
was scary and comforting though, all at the same time.
Mirage meanwhile is studying her sister worriedly. That was two big workings in the
same day. First splitting Twixle up, and then freaking out and creating that massive
storm. Vision should be collapsing right about now, but she wasn't. Something was
up.
Vision meanwhile is too worried about what Genesis thought of her freaking out to
notice much else. Including her rising exhaustion.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 2:31 PM
He senses her exhaustion and looks a little worried. "Are you alright?"
he begins to gather a small pocket of energy for her, just in case.
Posted by Vision on 7/27/01 at 2:39 PM
Well, Genesis wasn't eyeing her with the same semi-paranoid glances that Paradox
was giving her, so he was either hiding what he felt, or he really wasn't all that
worried. She smiles, hoping that it is the later. "I'm fine." It looks
like she's going to say something else, but at that moment she simply collapses.
She just kinda sinks to the floor without a sound.
Paradox is shocked by her sudden collapse, it takes him a moment to react. Mirage
leaps to her sisters rescue, reaching her before Vision hits. She sighs, that explained
it. Vision hadn't realized just how tired she was. It was either that or the shock.
Paradox makes it over a second later and looks to Mirage for an explaination.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 2:43 PM
He also catches her as she falls, and is a little more than alarmed. He concentrates,
feeding her healing energy a little at a time. He also looks to Mirage.
Posted by Vision on 7/27/01 at 2:47 PM
Vision doesn't react to any of this. Her eyes are closed and she looks a lot younger
now that her eyes are closed and the enforced rest has cleared some of the worry
lines. If it weren't for her rather uncomfortable looking position, spralwed over
Mirage and Genesis, she would look peaceful.
Mirage moves her into a slightly more comfortable position, getting Paradox to move
Vision onto the couch.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 2:49 PM
He watches them, still feeding energy to her bit by bit.
Posted by Vision on 7/27/01 at 2:51 PM
"Now she's really overdone it. I don't even know where she got all that power
from. Pure rage maybe. Anyway, she shouldn't have been able to do that after splitting
that escaped mutant into two. That, combined with her storm tantrum has completely
overloaded her system. It took a few moments for her body to realize that something
was wrong because she overloaded everything so badly. Now her body has decided some
enforeced rest is in order." Mirage said all this calmly, moving over her sister
making sure she hasn't actually hurt anything. Her entire manner reminds one of a
doctor.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 3:00 PM
He smiles at Mirage and seats himself near Vision's head, the steady stream of energy
undisturbed. He first trys to repair the mental strain, focusing his whole self on
her recovery. Had he not felt completely safe, he would have never attempted anything
like this... he was extremely vulnerable right now...
Had Fantim not disappeared...
Posted by Vision on 7/27/01 at 3:01 PM
Vision is taking the energy, in fact she's sucking it up like a sponge, but her condition
doesn't appear to be improving. She's still lying motionless on the couch, like some
strange sleeping beauty from a fairy tale. She doesn't give any indication of waking
anytime soon.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 3:05 PM
He smiles, and increases the flow slightly, though not too much. He doesn't want
to overpower her with it. Besides, she needed the sleep. He reaches out and takes
her hand, the better to assess the situation, and the link in renewed.
Posted by Vision on 7/27/01 at 3:07 PM
Mirage and Paradox watch the proceedings curiously. Mirage is able to follow what
Genesis is doing, and studying his technique like there's going to be a test on it
later. Paradox is standing on guard, scanning the area for anything that could become
a threat. Mirage smiles slightly as Genesis takes Visions hand. Paradox raises an
eyebrow at Miagre, and she exchanges glances with him for a moment.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 3:10 PM
He doesn't notice either of them, infact, he doesn't notice much of anything but
the steady flow of energy from his surroundings into Vision, and her mind gently
connected to his own. His eyes are open however, and their deep blackness reflects
his using the energy talent.
Posted by Vision, Mirage and Paradox on 7/27/01 at 3:07 PM
Vision's still not reacting, and Mirage who's watching, is getting a little worried.
She should have at least shifted position by now. She must have really overdone it.
Paradox is a bit startled to see Genesis's eyes, but he supposed it Vision's went
white what was the surprise behind Genesis's going black? Kinda a Ying Yang thing..
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 3:17 PM
He is also getting a little alarmed, if he hadn't been so closely connected to her,
mind to mind, he probably would have figured that she was just a deep sleeper, but
he hadn't really felt her stir inside. He waits to feel her brush up against his
mind contact...
Posted by Vision, Mirage and Paradox on 7/27/01 at 3:27 PM
Nothing. Vision doesn't react, she's just kinda lying there. Paradox picks up the
mood from the other two and looks down at Vision worriedly. ~What's wrong?~
Mirage answers. "With all the energy Genesis just pumped into her she should
be shifting position at least!"
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 3:30 PM
He's still lost in her mind, searching for something... anything... He builds up
a little energy 'light' to help him search the darkness inside, his mind opening
even further to hers. He leans over, his brow furrowing with worry and effort. He
keeps up the flow, hoping that it'll help somehow.
Posted by Vision, Mirage and Paradox on 7/27/01 at 3:34 PM
Mirage gives him a bit of a mental prod. ~Don't get yourself lost in there. If you
exhaust yourself you're not helping anyone.~ Mirage is plainly worried and her tone
is a little sharper then she means it to be. Paradox isn't catching much of this,
but Genesis's furrowed brow and Mirage's worried expression is enough to let him
grasp the basics.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 3:38 PM
He frowns and pulls away a little, sighing ~You're right...~ He keeps the connection
however, and the flow of energy only slows a bit. If he has to, he can keep this
up for hours, but Mirage is right, he doesn't want to overdo it.
Posted by Mirage and Paradox on 7/27/01 at 3:43 PM
Mirage is thinking. "Maybe it more of a mental thing?" Rhiow, who had been
watching silently for quite awhile speaks up, surprising Paradox, who hadn't even
realized she was there. "Maybe you could take some inspiration from her favorite
movie?" She comments dryly before leaving again.
Mirage and Paradox exchange glances. They're both wondering what on earth Rhiow is
talking about. Then realization hits them at the exact same moment. Mirage starts
giggling and Paradox looks faintly annoyed.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 3:45 PM
He blinks "What?" he's more than a little confused at Rhiow's comment,
and looks from Mirage to Paradox and back for an explanation.
Posted by Mirage and Paradox on 7/27/01 at 3:47 PM
Even as serious as the situation is Mirage can't stop laughing. Paradox watches her,
faintly annoyed. ~You have got to be kidding.~ He says to Mirage.
"Why not?" She's grinning. "It can't hurt, and it might actually do
some good."
Paradox rolls his eyes.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 3:51 PM
"What?" he dislikes being kept in the dark, especially when it concerns
the life of someone he cared about.
Posted by Mirage and Paradox on 7/27/01 at 3:52 PM
Mirage is laughing at Paradox's expression.
Paradox snorts at her. Then answers somewhat tartly. ~It has to do with Vision Favorite
movie..~
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 3:56 PM
He scowls slightly and makes a face "Exactly what is her favorite movie?"
he watches Mirage giggle and Paradox make faces and wonders more.
Posted by Mirage and Paradox on 7/27/01 at 3:57 PM
"Sleeping beauty." Mirage goes into another fit of the giggles.
Paradox snorts in annoyance. ~I can't belive it was Rhiow that came up with this..~
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 4:01 PM
He makes another face, but it breaks into a smile "Oh?" he cocks an eyebrow
and looks after Rhiow "How interesting." he cocks his head at Mirage "Do
you think it could work?" he's completely serious now.
Posted by Mirage and Paradox on 7/27/01 at 3:57 PM
~This isn't the kind of thing Rhiow comes up with.~ Paradox mutters under his mindvoice
breath.
Mirage gets a hold of her giggles. "I don't know. After all, it can't hurt."
Paradox snorts again, but there's a warm thread in his next comment to Mirage. ~You
are a hopeless romantic.~
Mirage merely grins at this. “So what’s your point?”
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 3:38 PM
He considers it a moment "That's true, it can't hurt..." he watches Vision,
how calm and serene she looked. All the lines of worry were gone, leaving her lovely
featured unchanged... she looked truely beautiful. He just sits there for a moment,
watching the steady rise and fall of her breathing, and thinking things over. After
a while he comments again "I guess it couldn't hurt," repeating it under
his breath. He glances up at the other two with a look that suggests that they might
not want an audience.
Posted by Mirage and Paradox on 7/27/01 at 3:41 PM
Mirage laughs and Paradox snorts again. Mirage is still laughing as she pushes the
much larger Paradox out of the room. He must have wanted to leave, there was no way
Mirage would be able to move him otherwise.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 4:11 PM
He waits untill they're both gone, then kneels next to Vision's 'bed' on the couch.
His mind brushes up against hers again as he renews the contact. I sure hope this
works... he doesn't want to think about her never waking up. He leans over, his
mind embracing hers in a warm yellow 'light'. He pays close attention to her state
of mind, still keeping up the gentle flow of energy. The rose glows pinkly as he
leans closer and kisses her, reacting to his proximity to her as much as the energy
flow.
Posted by Vision on 7/27/01 at 4:16 PM
Her eyes snap open, she seems shocked for a moment. Then she seems to decide this
is a dream and relaxes enough to kiss back. Then she smiles and turns over, curling
up and falling back into dreamland. This time it’s a very real sleep.
Meanwhile Mirage, who is sneaking a peek from the pried open door is resisting the
imature urge to start whistling.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 4:22 PM
He and pulls away, still somewhat linked. He glimpses her dreamstate and smiles,
glad that she is out of... whatever happened. He keps her hand in his, still sending
a little stream of healing energy her way, and a thought of ~Welcome back...~ whispers
through her mind. Had he realized that Mirage was watching, he probably would have
stood up and left when she showed signs of activity, but as it was, he wanted to
stay.
Posted by Mirage and Paradox on 7/27/01 at 4:24 PM
Mirage remains watching.
~If you say anything about this being cute, I promise I'll tell Vision about it.~
Paradox tells her.
Mirage scowls.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 4:27 PM
He remains blissfully ignorant of both of them, his thoughts lingering around Vision,
occasionally straying to Fantim.
Posted by Kat on 7/27/01 at 4:29 PM
Somehow aware that Vision is out of action for the moment Kat creeps out of the hallway.
She looks around and spots Vision on the couch and Genesis near her. She blinks.
"What happened to her?"
Mirage scowls, figures, Kat would have to ruin the moment.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 4:27 PM
He blinks and looks up at Kat, the spell broken. He smiles somewhat sheepishly, hoping
that Kat hadn't seen them moments before "She's exhausted herself... We were
pretty worried there a minute ago. She's alright now, just sleeping." he turns
his attention back to Vision's face as he speaks, and wonders again at her beauty
while she slept... he kept his face composed however, Kat was still there afterall...
Posted by Kat on 7/27/01 at 4:39 PM
Kat senses that he would rather be left alone in the room right about now and makes
a quick exit. She pases Mirage and Paradox on her way out. She's about to ask why
they're peering into the living room from the partly open door, but Mirage shushes
her. She blinks puzzledly, but complies. "I'm going to the diner." She
says before going through the kitchen to sneak through the living room and out the
door.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 4:46 PM
He's still gazing at Vision's sleeping form when the door closes. He jumps slightly
and looks around the room Hmm, no where did those two get off to... I wonder.
He stands and stretches, glancing back down at the 'Sleeping Beauty' on the couch
before moving away. The thread of energy he sends out locates Mirage and Paradox
in a matter of seconds, and he wanders in that direction. He was curious exactly
what Mirage was looking at before, when he was channeling the energy to Vision.
Posted by Mirage and Paradox on 7/27/01 at 4:50 PM
Mirage sees him coming and backs away from the door, looking for some reasonable
reason to be in here. Well, it was the hallway. She skips into her room and starts
cleaning up a bit. Her room was a bit of a mess. Well, maybe more then a bit. Paradox
moves to escape into Mirage's room as well, but she pushes him out. She didn't want
him in her room. Not while it was such a mess.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 4:54 PM
He smiles when his thread repotes that they've moved and opens the door to the hallway.
He strolls down towards Mirage's room and peeks inside "Mirage?"
Posted by Mirage on 7/27/01 at 4:55 PM
"Gah!!" She should have realized that Genesis would come in here. She quickly
opens the door, slips outside and shuts it. "Uh, yeah?"
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 4:59 PM
He blinks at her quick exit but shrugs mentaly "I was just curious," his
eyes dart over toward the door to the living room "What were you doing back
there?"
Posted by Mirage on 7/27/01 at 5:00 PM
"Me? I was.. Cleaning my room!" It was true, in a way. She had been cleaning
her room for a few moments. If she would have been human at that moment she would
have blushed. She looks to Paradox for some help. He grins wickedly and drifts away
to let Mirage deal with Genesis on her own.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 5:10 PM
He blinks "You were what?" he looks a little more than surprised, and confused.
How could she be cleaning her room and watching him at the same time? He cocks an
eyebrow and waits for an explanation... of some kind.
Posted by Mirage on 7/27/01 at 5:11 PM
"Cleaning my room. I needed something to do.. Um, how is Vision?"
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 5:17 PM
His confusion only increases, but he figures that he just didn't word his question
right "She'll be fine... She's just tired now." he nods and continues with
what he wanted to know earlier "What was it that you were doing for while I
was giving her energy? You seemed like you were looking for something..." he
cocks his head. He wonders why she seemed so guilty, but gives another mental shrug
and files it away for later.
Posted by Mirage on 7/27/01 at 5:19 PM
Drat! A direct question. She couldn't dodge that, not very well at least. "I
was standing in the hallway."
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 5:21 PM
He looks even more confused at this "What do you mean? You were sitting right
next to me!" He's slightly exasperated now, and more than a little suspicious.
Posted by Mirage on 7/27/01 at 5:23 PM
She's a little confused now, but once she realizes what he's asking she's also a
little relieved. "Oh that, I was watching. Trying to see how you did it."
Realizes she's not explaining very well and looks faintly sheepish.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 5:25 PM
He smiles faintly, wondering, then decided not to tease "Would you like me to
show you? It's not too difficult, once you know how... at least for me it isn't."
He waits for her answer.
Posted by Mirage on 7/27/01 at 5:27 PM
She grins somewhat sheepishly. "Nah, that's okay. I think I figured it out.
I just like watching other healers work. Studying their technique, I suppose you
could say.. But thanks for the offer."
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 5:35 PM
His smile widens and he nods, satisfied. She had somthing to share with Vision when
she woke up, and it wasn't Mirage's curiosity about his healing technique. She had
at least one very interesting younger sisters... He wasn't sure about Kat
yet, she was shy and cautious around her eldest sister, probably because she had
tried to kill her at first sight. He heads back into the living room, smiling and
thinking the whole way.
Posted by Mirage on 7/27/01 at 5:37 PM
Mirage is also thinking, wondering what on earth Paradox got into. Then Mirage thinks
of something. "Did Vision ever give you a tour?"
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 5:39 PM
He thinks "You know, I don't think she did... I only know where your room, 'my
room' and the kitchen & living room are." he smiles, then thinks of something
"Did you ever get that unfinished room finished, by the way?" he wonders
if maybe that's where Kat was staying now.
Posted by Mirage on 7/27/01 at 5:44 PM
She leads the way down the hall to what was going to be the guest room. "Yeah.
We finished it, then Kat arrived. All in the same day." She peers into the room
for a moment. Looking for anything that Kat might not want Genesis to see, then opens
the door. It looks more like Kat is camping out then anything. There are no sheets
on the matress, only a sleeping bag, and there's a tent in the corner. There's a
desk, covered with stuff, and a dresser. "We offered sheets and stuff, but she
likes using her sleeping bag. I think she's a bit worried about being kicked out
or something."
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 5:50 PM
He follows and looks around the room appreciatively "Gee, it sure is different
from when I was in here last." he smiles as he remembers his stay, and escape
through the window... "Wish we could fix that..." he mumbles under his
breath as he pulls out of the room, not wanting to intrude too far into someone elses
room without their permission. Then turns back to Mirage "Where to next?"
he wonders fleetingly where Paradox is, but figures that he'd make is appearance
when he wanted to, he usually did.
Posted by Mirage on 7/27/01 at 5:53 PM
One of her feline ears flicks. "Fix what?" Then she looks around. "Well,
there's Vision's room, and Paradox's Den, but we can catch those on the way back."
She thinks for a moment. "Ah." Then she takes off down the hall, stopping
at a large door at the end of it.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 5:55 PM
He followes "Oh nothing... Kat just seems to tiptoe around Vision an awful lot..."
he looks at the door, then at Mirage, curious.
Posted by Mirage on 7/27/01 at 5:59 PM
Mirage nods, smiling slightly. "Well, considering how they met, I think I would
be a little wary of my sister too." Then the smile fades. "They're complete
opposites, and Vision isn't really used to her yet, I guess. I think maybe she's
wondering if our brother is gona pop in on us sometime, or if he survived. We've
already started on another guest room." She points to another door, it had gone
un-noticed.
She grins at the big door. It's made of steel, like the one to Vision's workroom.
"It's kinda funny. We put all the interesting stuff behind steel doors. Have
you ever heard of the X-men's danger room?"
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 6:02 PM
He nods at her comment about Vision and Kat, and returns his gaze to the huge door
"Yeah... it's supposed to be a training room, right?" he eyes it warily.
Posted by Mirage on 7/27/01 at 6:06 PM
She's still grinning. Evidently she's quite proud of what's inside. "This is
an almost exact copy of it. With a few improvements of course. We don't have an entire
mansion to put the thing in, so it's a good deal smaller. And then we gave it a bit
of our own touch. But in every way that matters, this thing is the same. Vision spent
so much time hanging around there that she figured out how to build one." Mirage
is quite proud of her older siblings acomplishment.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 6:08 PM
He blinks, amazed, then smiles curiously at the closed room, wondering how he would
fare in such a room. "She's actually been there?" his question is slightly
distracted as he studies the steel doors.
Posted by Mirage on 7/27/01 at 6:13 PM
"Yeah, we grew up there. At the complex, I mean, not in the danger room."
Her expression goes unreadable for a moment before clearing. " The control room
is through here." She points to yet another perviously unnoticed door. This
one is the exact same color as the walls surrounding it. There's barely any seam
where the door meets the wall and they're don't appear to be any hinges. Saash is
following slightly behind them, listening curiously. "Would you like to try
it out?"
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 6:16 PM
He smiles at the invisible door and grins at her question "I suppose..."
it's a crafty little grin that says more than his words. He'd have the time of his
life in there... He doesn't see or hear Saash, or even realize that they're being
watched.
Posted by Mirage on 7/27/01 at 6:17 PM
She grins. "So what would you like to try? We've got just about any program
you can think up." She taps the door to the control room and it slides open.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 6:22 PM
Shrugs "I have no idea." He confesses. He watches her open the hiden door
and wonders "What kind of programs are there?"
Posted by Mirage on 7/27/01 at 6:27 PM
Mirage thinks it over. "We've got everything from Sentinels, to Evil Mutants,
to a Lab Scenario.." She shudders, that one is not one of her favorites. "Then
there's the mutated cannibal bunnies." She snorts in laughter. "Kat made
that one and then sent Vision into it without warning. She switched the one that
Vision programed in." She's trying not to giggle. That must have been an interesting
situation. "There's also a couple of plain fighting ones."
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 6:35 PM
He blinks and considers the lab, and also fights back laughter at the mutated cannibal
bunnies and the image it brought to mind of Vision after the program. He considers
"Well, let's see what the..." he almost says 'killer bunnies', but decides
against it, "... Sentinels can do." he smiles slightly.
Posted by Mirage on 7/27/01 at 6:36 PM
She smiles. "Okay, Sentinals it is! Just grab the handle and go right in. I'll
set it up." Saash watches curiously.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 6:42 PM
He nods and follows her instructions, entering their Danger Room. He looks around
inside for a moment as he waits for Mirage to start up the program. He reaches inside
his white labcoat pockets, feeling the comforting weight of his 'specials', ready
for action, but he tests them to see if they were still active... just in case...
and is pleased to sense that they were still perfectly viable.
Posted by Mirage on 7/27/01 at 6:45 PM
Inside it's a very plain steel room. Saash wanders in after Genesis, looking around
curiously. Mirage starts up the program. "If you want me to turn it off, just
shout." She can't be seen, but she can be heard. Soon a very different world
appears. A forest scene, at night. It's silent, too silent.
Saash looks rather shocked to suddenly be in a forest. She sniffs at the air reflectively.
It even smells like a forest.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 6:54 PM
He nods and blinks as the forest scene appears, slightly unnerved that he couldn't
sense any of the trees, only see them. The dark makes it hard to see, and he's a
little more nervous; he wouldn't be able to sense his way around the way he usually
could in a dark forest. He takes a step foreward warily, and waits, listening. A
seed floats out of his pocket, hovering between his two hands. He 'holds' it and
his palms glow with a blueish light, helping to light his way. He takes another step,
and hears something behind him. He turns reflexively, but finds only Saash. After
a surprised blink or two, he shrugs and looks foreward again, waiting. It was
too quiet...
Posted by Saash on 7/27/01 at 6:57 PM
Saash is looking extremely puzzled, she's noticed the silence as well. It unnerved
her. There's a large thump in the distance and the sound of working gears. A massive
red and purple humanoid robot appears on the horizon. Saash's eyes are almost inhumanly
wide. "What is that thing?" She asks quietly.
Posted by Genesis on 7/27/01 at 7:06 PM
"Sentinel..." he doesn't exactly have the time and leisure to tell her
the whole story because at that moment, the seed between his two palms sprouts indredibly
fast, zipping towards the Sentinel and dividing up into separate vines, instantly
wrapping around anything they touch, and reaching out for the robot's feet... Genesis
is already pulling out more of his 'specials' and preparing to use them when he makes
sure that the first one either holds or breaks free...
Posted by Saash on 7/27/01 at 7:08 PM
Saash's eyes are wide as she looks at the thing above them. The robot unwittingly
steps forward, into Genesis's vines. It's two massive hands speed down to crush them.
One is coming for Genesis, the other for Saash.
Posted by Genesis on 7/28/01 at 7:16 PM
He sends out four more seeds that split open and lash out to hold the arms back with
amazing strength. He smiles as they gain purchase and stop the Sentinel's progress.
He calls the first back to him, and it comes swiftly, retreating back into it's seed-shell
and speeding along the ground to reach his outstretched hand. He pauses, resting
it for a moment, then feeds it energy again, and it burts forth toward the robot's
head, searching for cracks in it's structure.
Posted by The Sentinal on 7/28/01 at 7:18 PM
It struggles against the vines for a moment. It gives up eventually and opens it's
hand, peppering the ground near Saash and Genesis with lazer bursts. The thing has
lousy aim.
Posted by Genesis on 7/28/01 at 7:31 PM
He smiles and directs his vine closest the lazer hand, feeding it extra energy. It
jerks as more vines burst from it's center and wrap themselves around the offending
hand and eating away at it like a tree's roots on hard ground.
The aim, or lack therof, could be accounted for because of the plant that had latched
onto the robot's helmet, covering it's 'eyes', still seeking a crack, any crack that
it could work it's way into.
Posted by The Sentinal on 7/28/01 at 7:36 PM
The other palm opens, peppering the ground with more lazer bolts. There's a long
seam were the mouth would be on a normal person.
Posted by Genesis on 7/28/01 at 7:47 PM
He frowns and has the other vine eat away at the second lazer. The one on it's head
finds it and sends several tendrils into it, prying it apart and reaching inside
and attacking it's circuitry. Genesis' face is strained with the effort of holding
up all five 'specials' and feeding them the extra energy they need to hold the Sentinel
back and burrow deep, seeking vital circuits.
Posted by The Sentinal on 7/28/01 at 7:50 PM
It starts swing it's arms trying to break free. Meanwhile the vines are just about
at the main control box. Saash looks on worriedly.
Posted by Genesis on 7/28/01 at 7:55 PM
He decides to take a chance... Grabing Saash by the arm, he races away from the huge
robot, out of it's reach, then he pulls energy together, subtracting slightly from
the hold of the vines on it's arms. He shoves the stored up energy at the one on
it's head suddenly, and it nearly bursts with vines... They reach the controll box
and...
The flash of light, heat and sound announces the end result of the 'specials' work.
He nods and nearly falls over as the lack of energy hits him in a rush. He manages
to call all of the seeds back, then sinks to his knees, panting, but satisfied.
Posted by Mirage on 7/28/01 at 7:55 PM
The forest fades, and the steel room returns. The door klinks open and Mirage stands
there grinning. "So what'd you think?"
Posted by Genesis on 7/28/01 at 8:00 PM
He grins up at her "Well, it certainly was exciting!" he stands after another
moment or two, and stretches. After a glance at Saash he puts the 'specials' back
in his pocket and pats them fondly. To Mirage "What now?" he's still a
little winded, but that was to be expected after all the excersize, First Vision,
then the battle... He sighs as his strength slowly returns to him.
Posted by Mirage on 7/28/01 at 8:00 PM
"Well, we could continue on the tour?"
Posted by Genesis on 7/28/01 at 8:01 PM
He nods "Yes, lets." and smiles.
Posted by Mirage on 7/28/01 at 8:03 PM
Mirage leads the way out of the room. Saash trailing behind. Turning a corner in
the hall she cracks open the door to a bedroom. Seeing that everything is clean as
usual she opens it a little further. A plain, almost spartan room can be seen. It's
so clean it's almost stark. "This is Vision's room."
Posted by Genesis on 7/28/01 at 8:07 PM
He smiles at the emptyness of it "Hmm," is all he says, and smiles, taking
a good look around before backing out again. He seems to be thinking about something,
but what, who knows.
Posted by Mirage on 7/28/01 at 8:09 PM
Raises an eyebrow at him, but doesn't comment. She moves to another door, not far
away and pauses before it. She knocks on the door. There's no answer. She cracks
open the door, it's pitch black inside. "This is Paradox's Den..."
Posted by Genesis on 7/28/01 at 8:12 PM
He blinks, curious, but not curious enough to walk right in and get Paradox angry
at him. He considers a moment, then smiles at Mirage "After you?" bowing
slightly and gestureing to the open door.
Posted by Mirage on 7/28/01 at 8:14 PM
Mirage studies the room for a moment, her green eyes flashing. Finally she shrugs
and takes a step into the room. Yellow eyes suddenly gleam in the darkness. Mirage
jumps. "Gah! Paradox, don't do that!!"
There's mental chuckle, then the lights flick on and the room becomes a rather ordinary
one. The only unusual thing about it is it's lack of windows. Paradox is sitting
on a large leather couch laughing.
~Gotcha.~
Posted by Genesis on 7/28/01 at 8:18 PM
Smiles, and barely manages not to laugh. He glances aroung Paradox's room, noting
the windowless walls with a mental shrug. Different strokes... He grins at Paradox
"I was wondering where you went, just kinda disappeared..." he glances
sideways at Mirage and refrains from commenting about both of their presences in
the hallway earlier.
Posted by Paradox on 7/28/01 at 8:19 PM
He shrugs. ~There is a reason this is called my den.~ He grins.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 1:35 PM
He nods understandingly, still smiling. He wonders about something for half a moment,
then shrugs mentaly again and looks back at Mirage, curious about the rest of the
tour.
Posted by Paradox and Mirage on 7/30/01 at 1:39 PM
Paradox goes on. ~For two reasons. First of all, my rather animalistic appearance
gives the name truth. Secondly and den is another name for a study, and this too,
it true.~
"He's gone into professor mode, we'd better go before he really gets started."
Mirage whispers to Genesis.
A finally look around the room takes in the wall of shelving filled with books, and
the massive paper covered desk.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 1:43 PM
He holds back another laugh at Mirage's comment. Being the professor that he was,
he was actually interested in what Paradox had to say.
Posted by Paradox and Mirage on 7/30/01 at 1:45 PM
Mirage shoots Genesis a pleading look. Slowly she edges out of Paradox's room. He
grins slightly, he knows what she's up to. She grins somewhat sheepishly back and
beats a quick retreat to the hall.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 1:48 PM
Smiles at Paradox "Maybe later..." He really was interested. He follows
Mirage out into the hall, closing the door quietly behind him. "Well, now where?"
he cocks his head curiously at Mirage.
Posted by Mirage on 7/30/01 at 1:52 PM
She goes across the hall to another room and props open the door without even looking.
"The Library." She says simply. The room is fairly small. Every inch of
wall is covered with shelves. Techincal manuals and Sci-Fi and Fantasy books seem
to be most common. A few comfortable chairs are scattered around the room. The light
comes from a big picture window on the opposite wall.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 2:37 PM
He sighs slightly and makes a mental note to return to the library soon, then turns
to follow Mirage, wondering what else might be in store in their house. It's beginning
to look larger on the inside than it is on the outside. He smiles at the thought.
If anyone could, this family would be the ones to do it, he was sure.
Posted by Mirage on 7/30/01 at 2:38 PM
Mirage ponders a plain white door, then opens it. "Bathroom." She says
simply before moving on.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 2:41 PM
He almost laughs, and follows. That was always good to know...
Posted by Mirage on 7/30/01 at 2:43 PM
Mirage opens yet another door. "And this is all the space we haven't used yet."
It's one large unfinished room that seems to be the same size as the rest of the
house put together.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 2:44 PM
He blinks "Wow, you guys sure have an awfull lot ofspace, don't you?" smiles
somewhat surprised. This sure was a difference from his own small appartment.
Posted by Mirage on 7/30/01 at 2:46 PM
"Yeah. Vision owns the entire building. We got the entire top floor to live
in. Then there's the garage in the basement." Strangely enough there are mats
set out on the floor. There's also dirty foot prints on the walls and ceilings. Mirage
seems rather surprised to see them there. She studies the prints for a moment, then
guesses how they got there. Kat's been having some fun.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 2:48 PM
He blinks, also somewhat surprised to see the prints on the walls and ceiling, and
looks to Mirage for an explanation.
Posted by Mirage on 7/30/01 at 2:51 PM
She grins, looking up at the ceiling. "Kat's been having some fun." To
demonstrate she puts her palms on the walls and then her feet. She goes up about
three feet, sticking to the wall like spider man, before coming back down. The room
is dusty from the construction and her own prints can be seen on the white wall now.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 2:52 PM
He smiles surprisedly "Wow, can you all do that? Walk on walls I mean..."
he wonders what else Vision kept out of her list of talents...
Posted by Mirage on 7/30/01 at 2:53 PM
"Yeah. Ceilings too." She grins.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 2:55 PM
He cocks his head, filing that bit of information away for later refference "Anything
else I should know about you guys?" he asks laughingly.
Posted by Mirage on 7/30/01 at 2:56 PM
"Um, I duno." She ponders that for a moment. "If I think of anything
I'll pass it on."
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 2:59 PM
He smiles and nods, thinking back to the tour and wondering if there was anything
else in the huge building that he hadn't seen yet.
Posted by Mirage on 7/30/01 at 3:00 PM
Mirage goes back into the hall, and then through a open archway. There's a dining
room with a table large enough to seat six. Mirage doesn't pause here. She goes through
another open archway. They're back to the living room by now. "That was the
dining room. We hardly use it. Most of the time we sit at the small table in the
kitchen. Then there's Visions workroom, I don't know if I dare take you in there."
She grins. "Last time I went in there she woke up from a nap and arrived not
more then a minute after I got in to shoo me back out again. I don't know if the
fact that I had Kat with me had anything to do with it. She seems to have a sixth
sense about anything that involves her workroom. "
She scans the room, trying to think of anything she may have left out. "Oh,
and the garage. I don't know if I should go down there either. Her motorcycle is
down there and she's exceptionally paranoid about it." The couch were Vision
was resting is empty.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 3:05 PM
He takes in all she's saying and nods; it probably wasn't good to get Vision mad
at him for tresspassing, especially if it might wake her. She needed her sleep right
now, and he wasn't about to disturb her rest with a tour.
His smile disappears when he sees the couch empty and he blinks. Now what? He casts
about with a thin strand of energy, looking for where she could've gotten to.
Posted by Mirage on 7/30/01 at 3:10 PM
The thread passes through the hall to her bedroom. However, that bit is old. It looks
like someone moved Vision to her room. Then she must have woken up and started doing
stuff again. The thread goes through the private bath that attaches to Vision's room,
then it goes through the workroom, then it plumits rapidly and disappears someplace
near the ground.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 3:27 PM
He blinks, following the thread with his mind's eye. Where did she go? He turns to
Mirage "Is there another way to the ground level near Vision's room?"
Posted by Mirage on 7/30/01 at 3:30 PM
"To ground level near Visions room?" She thinks for a moment. "Oh!
I know were she went." She goes out the front door shifting to human as she
goes, not bothering to lock it beacuse Paradox is still around. She slides down the
banner, going down several levels until she reaches the main floor. Then looking
around to make sure that no one is watching she heads into a closet.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 3:34 PM
He follows, still keeping his 'eye' on Vision's location... A smile flashes across
his features as he follows her down the banister, and curiously follows her into
the closet, also looking around to make sure the coast is clear as he did so.
Posted by Mirage on 7/30/01 at 3:36 PM
"Vision had some fun with secret passages." She explains as she yanks on
a coat hook in the janitors closet. The back of the closet opens up into a large
underground garage.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 3:41 PM
He smiles, staying close and peering into the garage. Hmm, looks like I'm getting
a tour of the garage afterall... his mind wanders slightly, but keeps it's focus
on Vision's whereabouts.
Posted by Mirage on 7/30/01 at 3:43 PM
There's a light on in the opposite corner of the room. Vision is working on something
laid out on the table. When she realizes that Mirage and Genesis are approaching
she throws a sheet over it and turns to face them. Her hair is still semi-damp. She
must have taken a shower. She's also changed clothes. A extremely battered leather
jacket has replaced the one she usually wears.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 3:47 PM
He grins as they approach "Feeling better I see..." and doesn't even seem
to notice the covered worktable.
Posted by Mirage on 7/30/01 at 3:49 PM
Vision looks faintly sheepish. "Yes. Much better, thanks." Mirage looks
at the thing on the worktable. It's easily ten feet long, and it looks suspiciously
like the thing that Vision had been worried about Kat messing with earlier. How on
earth did it get down here?
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 3:55 PM
He cocks his head at the look on her face and speaks to her silently ~What is it?~
Posted by Vision on 7/30/01 at 3:59 PM
She looks rather startled for a moment. ~This? Um, nothing much..~ It has a roughly
humanoid shape. It almost looks like she's got a mini Sentinal down here.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 3:55 PM
He raises one eyebrow amusedly but doesn't push it ~I meant what's on your mind...~
Half his mough turns up in a small smile.
Posted by Vision on 7/30/01 at 4:07 PM
For a moment she looks relived. ~ Oh. ~ She seems to think this over for a moment.
~Scematics.~ She answers honestly. ~Other then that, not much.~ She turns slightly
and a backpack can be seen. Vision almost looks like she's going camping.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 4:10 PM
He cocks his head and sends that idea through the link along with an amused feeling
and a little curiosity.
Posted by Vision on 7/30/01 at 4:12 PM
She smiles, strangely enough, she's still in her natural form. Most of the time Vision
goes human as soon as she possible can and stays there. Either she's not feeling
as well as she looks, or she's staying that way for a reason.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 4:25 PM
He wonders at that, but it doesn't bother him; he thinks she's lovely either way.
In fact, he figures that the feline features suit her, but that was to be expected,
since it was what she was supposed to look like anyway. He's more than a little concerned
however, that she's pushing herself again. He didn't want to go through all that
worry again.
As soon as those thoughts cross his mind, another enters in and he hopes that she
wasn't still hearing his thoughts... but probably was.
Posted by Vision on 7/30/01 at 4:29 PM
Vision blinks, what a jumble that was! She glanced with new respect at Mirage. Imagine
getting this from everyone and not just one person!
Mirage, who had been standing their silently the entire time grins, then waves. Being
the natural empath that she is, Mirage might have caught more of that then Vision
did. Only as emotions though, and that is why she was leaving. She goes back through
the closet, leaving Genesis and Vision alone again.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 4:37 PM
He blinks back, then turns to watch Mirage go, sensing the slight confusion from
Vision. A resigned sigh accompanies the thought that as long as they're so closely
connected, he'd might as well get used to it. He smiles faintly. "So..."
he's not sure where to go with it, and breaks off, leaning back and glancing around
the garage.

She chuckles, having caught a bit of that last thought. She looks around the garage.
Her expression brightens when she spots a shadowy form in the back. She grins, flicking
on light as she goes and walks over to it.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 4:41 PM
He follows, curious.
Posted by Vision on 7/30/01 at 4:45 PM
She stops in front of a rather unusual looking motorcycle.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 4:47 PM
Watches, remembering what Mirage had said about her motorcycle. He's still curious
though, and walks around it, looking it over carfully.
Posted by Vision on 7/30/01 at 4:50 PM
She's beaming. The motorcycle gleams in the light. It's obivous that it's Vision's
pride and joy and that she takes very good care of it. It doesn't look like any recogniseable
type, she must have built it herself.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 4:47 PM
He smiles ~It's beautiful...~ he comments, but it's quite clear that he considered
the maker much more lovely. He winces slightly at the thought, and hoped that she
didn't catch it. That was just too corney, however true it was. Another wince. He'd
better keep a tighter reign on his thoughts if he was going to stay close to Vision.
Posted by Vision on 7/30/01 at 5:00 PM
She chuckles, finding this kinda funny. In some ways she was almost as bad a tease
as Paradox.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 5:05 PM
He sighs and looks up at her with a combination of shy sheepishness. Obviously she'd
heard that... He trys very hard to keep his mind blank, but it was all too much.
He usually couldn't keep thoughts out of his mind with just himself listneng to them,
with Vision in there too... well, it was nearly impossible. Still, it couldn't hurt
to try... And the memory that particular thought brought to mind was all too much.
He looks over the bike, trying, but failing miserably to keep his mind on it instead
of... There he goes again! A last frustrated sigh and he looks back up at Vision
helplessly.
Posted by Vision on 7/30/01 at 5:09 PM
She's laughing hard, really trying not to, but failing miserably. She should be embaressed
herself, but it was just too funny! This relationship was going to be interesting!
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 5:11 PM
He sighs again, then gives over to the same laughter as she, agreeing the whole time.
Oh no...
Posted by Vision on 7/30/01 at 5:13 PM
She wonders a bit at the 'oh no', but now she's laughing too hard to stop. What a
scene this much make. Two adults alone in the basement laughing their heads off.
That picture only makes her laugh harder.
Posted by Genesis on 7/30/01 at 5:15 PM
The image he gets from that thought is enough to start him laughing all over again,
and he hopes no one happens by right now.
Posted by Vision on 7/30/01 at 5:17 PM
She suddenly wonders just how well the soundproofing she placed on this area is working.
Their laughter is bouncing off the cold cement walls and filling the entire garage.
Posted by Genesis on 8/1/01 at 2:18 PM
He finally gets controll of his laughter and blinks up at Vision. How had they gotten
like this again? Oh yeah... he pushes the thoughts away before he can think them,
and smiles slightly.
Posted by Vision on 8/1/01 at 2:22 PM
She finally gets control of her own laughter.
Meanwhile, Mirage who is going upstairs is wondering what's so funny.
Posted by Genesis on 8/1/01 at 2:25 PM
He smiles, blissfully ingnorant of Mirage, and managing to keep controll on his mind...
for the moment at least.
Posted by Vision on 8/1/01 at 2:35 PM
Vision smiles faintly at this, then looks around the room.
Posted by Genesis on 8/1/01 at 2:39 PM
"So..." a smile crosses his face and he also looks around the garage, searching
for something to say.
Posted by Vision on 8/1/01 at 2:40 PM
Vision looks at the motorcycle. "Do you need a ride home?"
Posted by Genesis on 8/1/01 at 2:39 PM
He thinks a moment, then nods "I think I'd better... I've been away from work
for a while, and they'll start to wonder where I got off to..." he grins at
her, the image popping into his mind of the proffesor of botany that they'd met before
in the greenhouse, and what he'd think... That brought another smile to his face
and he almost laughed again.
Posted by Vision on 8/1/01 at 2:45 PM
She grinned, and looked him straight in the face. Ooh, that was a mistake. It brought
back the memory of that strange dream. She blushed, usually she didn't dream like
that. Thank goodness she was still in her natural form. Looking away from him she
started hunting around for her helmet, and an extra one for Genesis.
Posted by Genesis on 8/1/01 at 2:47 PM
He blinks at that thought, and remembers. But it wasn't a dream... He's curious now,
and his thoughts transmit themselves with a tint of that curiousity.
Posted by Vision on 8/1/01 at 2:49 PM
She flushes again, aware of his curiousity. Blessing her dark fur and cursing the
link she continues to hunt for an extra helmet. She flushes again when she realizes
that he can probably hear everything. Now it was his turn to laugh at her..
Posted by Genesis on 8/1/01 at 2:50 PM
But he didn't laugh "Jennifer..."
Posted by Vision on 8/1/01 at 2:54 PM
"Yes?" She asks sounding faintly distracted, her acting experience at work
again. She finally finds another helmet, it looks a bit smallish. She straightens
and holds it out to him, not daring to look at his face. "You think this will
fit you?"
Posted by Genesis on 8/1/01 at 3:00 PM
He glances at it, then goes on with the previous thought ~It wasn't a dream...~ a
smile crosses his face as he sends a memory through the connection... For a brief
moment, she saw through his eyes and felt his worry as he watched her on the couch.
Then the idea, and how they had all agreed that it couldn't hurt to try...
Posted by Vision on 8/1/01 at 3:03 PM
Strangely enough her first though is.. ~I wonder were Rhiow got that one?~ Then the
rest of the message kinda filters through and she doesn't know quite what to say.
~It wasn't a dream? That means..~ That thought just kinda trails off and she
blushes again, rather flustered.
Posted by Genesis on 8/1/01 at 3:05 PM
He chuckles, though not at her. ~No...~ he smiles faintly and takes the helmet, letting
her gather her thoughts.
Posted by Vision on 8/1/01 at 3:14 PM
Genesis takes the helmet from still hands as Vision ponders this. Visions reaction
to this rather startling news is to reflect on it for a moment, and when she can't
quite digest it, skip over it entirely. She doesn't quite blush when she remembers
that Genesis can probably see all of that too. This link was going to get some getting
used to. Slamming her own helmet on her head to hide her expression (lot of good
that would do) she hops on to her motorcycle, smiling as she turns it on and revs
it up.
Posted by Genesis on 8/1/01 at 3:21 PM
He smiles, watching one thing after another, as fast as her mind goes, and agrees
with that last thought: he was definitly gonna have to get used to it. However, it
probably was going to vanish as soon as they were out of range. He wasn't a very
strong telepath, so the link shouldn't last very long out of contact. Heck, it didn't
even work when he was not in the same room as she... He shrugs and slips the helmet
over his head. It was a little tight, but not too bad. He climbs aboard behind her
and holds on for the ride.
Posted by Vision on 8/1/01 at 3:28 PM
She listens to most of this, half worried half pleased. The thought that they probably
wouldn't be this closely linked most of the time was a bit of a relief, but it was
also a bit of anxiety as well. That meant that she wouldn't be able to keep contact
with him during the time she was in the holding station. Being alone like that wouldn't
have bothered her most of the time, but if he was thinking about getting himself
tagged so he can go along? She slammed a lid down on that train of thought. Right
now she would enjoy the drive.
Posted by Genesis on 8/1/01 at 3:35 PM
He catches snatches of that thought, and wonders why she's so worried about him suddenly.
He smiles under the helmet ~You can always contect me through the rose... And I you.
It's just when we're so close that it works like this~ He asssures her through their
shared link, and the rose throbs slightly, as if reminding her that it was still
there.
He also takes her advice, turning his attention to the scene around him and the wind
rushing past them instead of what the future might bring.
Posted by Vision on 8/1/01 at 3:37 PM
~Oh!~ She had forgotten about the rose, or at least what it did. She had made sure
to transfer it to her older jacket when she changed. She turns the cycle onto a street
only a few blocks from Genesis's home.
Posted by Genesis on 8/1/01 at 3:38 PM
He smiles and looks around him, recognizing the area.
Posted by Vision on 8/1/01 at 3:40 PM
Vision sped through the last few blocks and came to a neat stop right in front of
the steps of his apartment. After exchanging quick good-byes Vision blasted back
into the night. She didn't go straight home, a long ride would do wonders for her
state of mind. It never really occurred to her what might happen if she was suddenly
teleported into a holding station. A hour or so later Vision arrived back home. The
first thing she did when she got inside was curl up on the couch and pop in a disney
movie.
Although Paradox and Mirage noted her behavior, they didn't disturb her.
