Part horror movie,
part Mortal Kombat, the gory arcade fighter BloodStorm
originally began life as a sequel to the equally gory Time Killers.
BloodStorm
never saw a wide distribution in arcades due to its graphic and violent
imagery, but it might have seen new life as a 32x title. Regrettably, the
game was canceled and was never released for any home console.
Like the first Mortal
Kombat, the original
Time Killers was more style
than substance, boasting rather silly characters and excessively gory moves
(including streams of spurting blood and chainsaw decapitations.) It was
surprisingly popular and later appeared in limited quantities on the Sega
Genesis (the port was widely panned due to its poor gameplay and 8-bit
quality graphics.)
