Frontier Development's
superlative 3-D shooter DarXide
was
scheduled for a simultaneous American and United Kingdom release to coincide
with the debut of the Sega Neptune, a combined Genesis/32x unit. Unfortunately,
the Neptune was canceled, and the implosion of the 32x market killed any
chance of a stateside DarXide release. The game was released
in the U.K. in very limited quantities and remains one of the most difficult
to locate 32x titles.
DarXide
and FIFA Soccer '96 are the only U.K. games not released
in the United States. FIFA runs perfectly on any 32x console
from any region, but DarXide only runs on the U.K. Mega Drive
