The 32x version of
Revolution X, an inexplicably
popular arcade gun shooter featuring the music and digitized likenesses
of the rock band Aerosmith, was rumored to be well into the development
cycle when it was abruptly canceled due to the waning 32x market. The Super
Nintendo and Genesis carts are simply awful, though it has been reported
that the 32x port was much closer to the arcade original in terms of graphics
and gameplay, probably comparable to the Sega Saturn release. The 32x is
devoid of gun shooters except for the dreadful Corpse Killer
CD, but its doubtful that even a faithful port of
Revolution
X would be regarded much higher.
