The original Surgical
Strike for the Sega CD is mediocre gun shooter filled with
live-action footage and hammy actors, though it does rate as one of the
better live-action Sega CD releases. The 32x port would have undoubtedly
featured cleaner, more colorful graphics and not much else. The Sega CD
game includes a mail-in offer for a 32x "upgrade", and an in-depth advertisement
complete with screen shots (shown below) appeared on the back cover of
the Fahrenheit manual. The 32x CD had the potential to be
a great gaming platform; it's too bad that Sega only used it as a way to
make a little extra money off of crappy full-motion video Sega CD duds.
A completed version of Surgical Strike 32x almost certainly
exists somewhere.
