Albert Heijn Witbier, 5% ABV
Albert Heijn is a gigantic supermarket chain in the Netherlands. I don’t know whether this wheat beer is brewed by them or on behalf of them, but I’d tend to assume the latter. Wheat accentuates the flavour and finish, with hop character in the aftertaste. Wheat scents emanate from the smooth, lacy head. It is medium-bodied, medium-dry, with little carbonation. Its colour is straw, with a cloudy hue. If you pour it carefully, you can avoid a lot of its cloudy aspect. But, then again, some people prefer to preserve the distinctive wheat beer facade.
