Budweiser Budvar, 5% ABV
This is the genuine Budweiser, not the hyped-up imitation of a beer that most people know today. Budvar is becoming increasingly available and popular in Britain, and rightly so, because it’s far supierior. Hops overshadow the taste, accompanied by a candy flavour, and a pleasant upsurge of bubbles. In the aftertaste, the finish is hoppy, ricy and musty. It has a fresh bouquet of rice, and a juicy fizzy texture containing malt and candy. The head mostly dissipates, leaving wisps of lace around the glass, however if poured just right, the froth will persist all the way to the bottom. This genuine Czech beer is dry to medium-dry, and medium- to full-bodied. Let’s all go back to Budweiser’s roots, and choose this, the genuine crisp brew.
