Cantillon, Rose de Gambrinus, 5% ABV

At time of writing, the judges are still out as to whether all Cantillon beers are in fact sour, but so far, I haven’t encountered one that isn’t. Rose de Gambrinus is extremely sour. There are tones of strawberry in the flavour, with cherries in the finish. The head is an attractive bubbly mousse, and through it emerges a bouquet that also contains hints of strawberry, but the extreme sourness is evident there also. If you’re not completely immune to very sour beers, then this one is fairly difficult to go down, with the sourness in the mouthfeel giving way to vinigariness. I can't decide whether it's sweet or dry - the sourness simple overrides everything. This is a beer with a deathly tang. I personally love it!
