Freeminer, Gold Miner, 5% ABV

If you’ve ever tasted a Belgian “tripel” beer, then this medium-bodied English beer tastes exactly like one of them. It is dry, with a lot of carbonation, making it very sharp, also distinctively yeasty, leading to hops in the aftertaste. A very dry beer, with a smell of yeast, and a texture that is fizzy and sharp. It has an average sized head of froth, bathed in bubbles. I don’t know really what to think of Gold Miner. It’s a bit too sharp and fizzy, but then it does pour, look like, and taste like a Belgian beer, so it can’t be that bad.

Freeminer, Speculation Ale, 4.8% ABV

This isn’t Freeminer’s best brew, it it’s certainly rather nice. It has an overall sharp mouthfeel, with bitterness in the flavour, spreading into a fizz in the finish. The flavour is aided by the noticeably malt aroma.

Freeminer, Trafalgar India Pale Ale, 6% ABV

Trafalgar has a fizzy taste, but it’s a pleasing fizz, however leading to a not so pleasing aftertaste, which is rather bitter. The bitterness comes through in the aroma, but the mouthfeel is rather hoppy. Like many India Pales, it has a light to mid-golden appearance, but has a thin head. Overall, this is a good beer, especially the fizzy hoppy flavour you receive when you give it your first sip.
