Fuller's, Vintage Ale, 8.5% ABV

A delicious strong, copper-coloured beer for Christmas from Fuller’s. This beer is sweet with a capital S! Arguably there is too much sugar in this brew. If only some of this sugar had fermented, it would have been both stronger, and a better beer. I don’t want to put it down, though, because it is a damn good beer.

It is full-bodied, with a texture in the mouth that makes you all too aware of its strength. The malty, straw scents are a prelude to the straw flavour, and a toffee, though bitter finish. A great beer, and a fantastic Christmas gift to any beer lover with an eye for quality.
