Heather Ale, Fraoch, 4.3% ABV

Based on an ancient recipe, Fraoch is a rather unusual beer. The first impression from the taste is that it is a stronger beer than it actually is. It has a long, hoppy aftertaste, full of fizz. The overall flavour of this Scottish beer is of flowers, but quite unlike anything else around. It’s floral character certainly shines through in the bouquet, along with touches of fruit. A zesty mouthfeel accompanies the taste. The beer only has a thin head. A lovely, full-bodied, medium-sweet beer.
