Huyghe, Delirium Tremens, 9% ABV

Be prepared for a powerful beer! The strength manifests inself as sharpness in the flavour, although a hint of hops shows through in the finish. The head isn't amazing - bubbly and spotty. There is a strong smell to this beer, with evidence of yeast. The potency comes through thick and fast in the mouthfeel. A powerful, sharp beer, but very nice.

Huyghe, Delirium Nocturnum, 9% ABV

This is the dark version of Tremens. It’s stronger, and arguably slightly better. The flavour contains grapes, straw and toffee, with a sour aftertaste of liquorice and some fruit. I would describe its aroma as like dark fruits, complemented by currants, malt and sugar, as well as some dryness. It has a lovely creamy, bubbly head of froth. It is a sweet, full-bodied beer, with not too much fizz. A host of everything seems to burst forth from Nocturnum. An enchanting, rich beer, which, if you’re used to your strong beers, isn’t too difficult to go down.
