Orkney, The Red MacGregor, 6% ABV

Underneith the long-lasting frothy head is evidence, from the smell, of a fruity, malty, rich beer, but the flavour holds so much more! The complex taste, in which fruity malts home in directly on the taste buds, is succeeded by a bitter, somewhat yeasty finish. True to the aroma, the mouthfeel is of strong malts. This is what Scottish beer is all about - truly excellent.
Orkney, Skull Splitter, 8.5% ABV

The Orkney brewery should be proud of themselves for this amazing beer - one of the best The 3 Gents have ever tasted! Upon pouring, there is a good head of froth, which winds itself around the glass. The complex, dry aroma is a treat unto itself. The prominent taste and mouthfeel is that of sweetness, although the flavour comes into its own in the finish, with strong tones of fruit. This is one of the stronger Scottish beers. The British government should be ashamed of itself for heavily taxing beers of such strength, for such a beer as Skullsplitter would be enjoyed and savoured, not guzzled from the bottle, by anyone worth their salt.
